Chapter 21: Mere stranger
The shooting process went by smoothly, and when two days finally passed, Miyeon could finally return to her own humble apartment. On the day of her leave, she could see Taejoon being content with it— something thing she had very much expected.
Fortunately enough, Min Soobin was not there to meet her. After what happened at the previous day, she was not ready to face him. She was afraid she would make a further joke out of herself.
She did not expect him to directly throw all that at her; he must have enjoyed the entire thing. Cursing him in her mind was not enough for her. However, since he did not create any trouble for her, she decided to forgive him on the account of not being petty.
Tomorrow was the day Miyeon promised Minjae on a date, and knowing that she's going to be returning late tomorrow, she finished with her manuscript for tomorrow too and submitted it.
Miyeon wasn't known to be someone petty. However, when it came to her mother, there was nothing she wouldn't do. After all, she wouldn't have survived until now if it wasn't for her mother. Seeing how Bohyun did not know how to be grateful, she did not mind teaching her a lesson.
The encounter between her so-called father and mother occured when he was involved in a car crash that was intended to kill him. In her opinion, he should have died then. Maybe she would not have been born, but at least her mother would not have to suffer due to him.
Her mother discovered his injured body and tried her best to take care of him in secrecy at her village after knowing that there was someone trying to end his life.
In the midst of that, her mother started developing feelings for him, and believing his lies, she entrusted her entire self with him. After taking three months to recover, he left her mother without any word and went back to Seoul.
When her mother found out about her pregnancy, she deemed it necessary to inform him about it despite being heartbroken regarding him leaving her.
She believed that there was a reason behind him doing so and he would be happy after knowing about the pregnancy. The only clue to him was the business card of him that was left behind.
However, she had expected too much from that scum.
Having spent her entire life in a village, her mother had no idea how the big cities work. Nevertheless, for the sake of her child not being fatherless, she made her journey to the Seoul after working part-times to earn sufficient money.
After the countless tries, she managed to contact him, and the only response she got from him was a blank face with no desire whatsoever to carry responsibility.
Her mother felt as if the man she once loved no longer existed, and the entire time she fancied simply a façade. Truly being able to understand his true personality, her mother cursed herself for being naive and trusting someone easily. She learned that at times, helping someone could be deadly for one.
