Chapter 53: Chapter 53: A New Dawn

Cecilia's POV

My entire body ached, from my head below - the pain was unexplainable.

Was this death?

I struggled to open my eyes but it felt so heavy and the pain that came along with it was unbearable.

"What is happening? Am I dead?" Inwardly, I was baffled with different thoughts.

Was this the afterlife treatment?

What happened to me?

Fortunately, my eyes opened and the sun rays flashed on my face, making my eyes flutter at its touch until they were stable.

I was in a big room different from the types I had imagined. I was lying on a soggy bed with a heavy mattress (duvet) tucked around me which kept me warm. I assume.

In the room there was a long armchair, it had some decorated foam on it - not entirely wooden.

The air filtering in the room was nice and soothed my spirit.

Where was I? Was this the after life? Or did I reincarnate?
