"So you are telling me that you live right next to the place mainly inhabited by descendants of the first few slimes to exist on this planet?"-Albert
"Why won't you just believe me?"-Ogden
"Because it sounds like a lie that's all."-Albert
Albert could be seen arguing with Ogden about where his home was.
"Fine let me show you! I will activate a portal in your ranch to my retreat!!"-Ogden
As he said that the sounds of something technological being activated surrounded the area. In the path towards the Overgrowth from the Ranch house, he saw a green portal. Which he abruptly entered.
After entering the sounds of wildlife flushed into his ears.
"So this is where you live huh Ogden"-Albert
"Yup! This is my home, believe me now?"-Ogden
"Oh, I definitely do, but do those kookadobas grow around here? I am getting drowned in its scent."-Albert
Ogden nodded as he led Albert to a portal on the edge of a bridge. Walking through the portal Albert found himself in the wilds, a place full of Saber largos, angry ones at that. Smelling the air he followed the scent of Kookadobas past the open prairies, dark cave, and a collection of small pillars of stone, standing high above the sea whilst being connected by a web of rickety wooden bridges.
Having been following the scent of kookadobas he found them everywhere, on trees, under their roots, the soil, the caves, and even a few bundled up into hard muddy balls by the saber largos.
He found a ton of kookadobas, so many In fact when he walked through one of the few working portals around The Wilds, the pile in his arms had been tossed onto Ogden who was waiting for him outside the portal.
"Oh, great heavens! Where did you find this many kookadobas?!"-Ogden
"Just ran around and avoided the angry saber Largos."-Albert
After a minute of counting Ogden immediately stood up straight and coughed to clear his throat.
"Can I take these? I will give you something in return though"-Ogden
"I mean sure, but how many are there anyway?"-Albert
"About 80 but there could be more I haven't counted."-Ogden
"Yeah, I do have a few in my Vac-pack that I plan on eating today"-Albert
After finishing their agreement Ogden gave Albert a Large bag of fertilizer he called, 'Miracle Mix', this fertilizer made fruits and veggies in the garden he placed the mix, stopping decomposing. This was one of the few things he needed in his day-to-day life since unless the drones placed the fruits and veggies in the auto-feeders the fruits would rot and he would be left with no crops to eat.
Having entered his home he of course went to the kitchen as usual.
Kookadoba special blue fried chicken.
He grabbed some painted hen he had in the Freezer which had a peculiar blue color. He then separated into all the parts, the legs, wings, and breast would be used in his dish today but the carcass would be saved up for another day.
He wanted to make the chicken like popcorn so what he did was cut the breasts into small cubes and removed the bones from the wings and legs.
The kookadobas were put into a processor but not before removing the hard exterior skin, the insides were an ivory white and were quite smelly, almost like durian but it smelled more rotten. Nonetheless, he scooped out the white flesh inside the processor which blended the fruit into a sort of slimy consistency. Tossing in a spoonful of fire flower sap into the blend and mixing it made it a little orange.
He grabbed three eggs from the coop as he scrambled them and placed the cubes into the bowl of egg one by one, then he covered each cube with flaky bread crumbs he had made on the ranch. Not too hard. Then he placed the cubes back into the egg, coating them thoroughly, and the again into the crumbs, once again coating thoroughly.
He prepared some of the vegetable oil in a big pan and heated it up, at least until it started to bubble, which at the point he placed the chicken cubes into the oil 5 at a time, once they started to get a little brown he would take them out of the pan and throw in a new batch. He then placed the cubes in the bowl of kookadoba sauce and tossed it around, making the wings completely covered.
Back into the oil went the cubes as once he stopped hearing the sizzling of the oil the cubes had turned golden brown. He collected them into a bowl as he went outside and saw the night set in. He put the fried chicken in a small box and went into the portal that led to ogdens retreat.
"Hey buddy, wanna watch the stars at my place?"-Albert
"Sure, I am gonna bring some of that starfire rum is that fine?"-Ogden
"No its quite alright actually"-Albert
They sat down in front of the slime sea as they talked with each other telling of their tales and their woes. Each story making the bowl of fried chicken lighter and lighter, the same going for the bottle of rum.
"So you clocked him over on the back of the head with an old-timey telephone?"-Albert
"Thats what I'm saying! Man competitors really don't give up do they"-Ogden
"Man this really reminds me when..."

Announcement here.
In a few days or weeks I will have a lot more free time and at that point there may be possibly two chapters a day.
Hope you liked the story today, of how our young protagonist has befriended the old and bold Ogden( Btw the guy has kids I think)
The recipe above is based on buffalo chicken wings and keep that in mind if you want to make them. This is buffalo popcorn chicken but normally you don't cube it but just coat it in egg and bread crumbs and fry it, then fry it again with sauce on.
Nonetheless, the summer holidays are fast approaching. To those in the northern Hemisphere have fun on the beaches and for those in the southern relax in the snow
