Fein stood in front of Niki, his eyes filled with anger and confusion. "Why did you kill Gregory?" he demanded. "He was my teacher, my mentor. He didn't deserve to die like that."
Niki's expression remained neutral. "Gregory was a loose end," he replied calmly. "He knew too much about our organization and had become a liability. His death was necessary to protect our secrets."
Fein clenched his fists. "And why did you investigate me and Michael using Kidd? What did you find out?"
Niki's eyes narrowed slightly. "Well, you see, the tallest tree always experiences the strongest winds. The two of you are comparable to bright starts in the sky... And let's just say that you and your friend are more interesting than we initially thought."
'Damned liar!' Fein's anger turned to dread as he realized the full extent of Niki's power. "What do you want from us?" he asked. "What's your intention?"
