Chapter 25: Harry's Chocolate Cake

Four days later, a weary-looking Moon gradually emerged from the basement, dragging himself upward.

His eyes were surrounded by dark circles, his beard drooping, and the hair on his face tangled.

"Finally out. I thought you died down there," Lucifer remarked casually.

Moon, with a disdainful expression, replied, "You don't understand the satisfaction of researching magic. Even Merlin, if he were here, would immerse himself deeply and find it hard to extricate."

After saying this, he glanced around, asking, "Where's Harry?"

"Outside, helping someone fix things," Lucifer said. "Four days ago, a woman's lawnmower broke, and Harry went over to help. After fixing it, his reputation as a handyman spread throughout the entire street."

Lucifer chuckled, saying, "He somehow found a set of repair tools, dressed up like a professional, and used magic to fix things at people's homes."

Moon paused for a moment, then nodded. He grabbed a whole leg of lamb from the kitchen and casually handed it to Lucifer.

"Help me roast this meat, and remember to flip it."

"I, the mighty devil, turned into a barbecue machine..." Lucifer muttered.

Moon fell silent for a moment, then turned and walked towards the second floor. "Don't look down on yourself like that. Oh, and boil some water for me!"

Watching Moon's back, Lucifer felt an urge to unleash a string of profanities. However, just as he was about to erupt, the door of Moonlight Castle suddenly opened.

Half an hour later, Moon slowly descended the stairs. After taking a shower, he felt refreshingly comfortable. Picking up the lamb leg, roasted to perfection and fragrant, he went to the dining table.

"By the way, who visited earlier?" Lucifer glanced at Moon and said without enthusiasm, "Besides Harry, who else? Would I allow anyone else to enter here?"

"What if, like Carlsifah, you randomly let an annoying old woman into the castle?" Moon chuckled.

"If one day we go back, I'll tell Sophie what you said." Lucifer grinned.

"You don't think Sophie is some grumpy woman, do you? Well, I'll let her know," Moon said, pushing a piece of lamb towards Lucifer with a sly smile.

"Really?" Lucifer hesitated for a moment, realizing that his words seemed to convey that meaning. He quickly waved his hands, "What? Don't tell Sophie, I take it back!"

But after saying that, Lucifer felt something was off; he seemed to be getting entangled.

"No, you're messing with me!"

Watching Lucifer's reaction, Moon burst into laughter.

Is that it?

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Harry stood outside, holding a large basketball-sized box.

Moon looked at Harry in surprise, then turned to Lucifer.

Lucifer nodded, "Yes, he came in. After seeing me roasting meat, he didn't say anything and rushed out again."

"Uncle Moon!" Harry greeted warmly, entering with the box.

His eyes sparkled as he said, "I thought you'd come out after many more days."

"Then I'd starve," Moon waved his hand. "You might experience the same thing in the future, provided you continue to love magic."

"Of course!" Harry nodded emphatically.

"Maybe," Moon smiled. "But from my observation of the current magical world, most people, even with the incredible power to influence the world's source, are restricted to conventional, mundane, and arrogant thinking over time.

Honestly, I find it quite foolish for a wizard to toil for three meals a day when they possess the ability to manipulate the fundamental forces of the world, only..."

Moon shook his head, thinking it better to change the topic. "What's in the box?"

"Oh, right," Harry snapped out of it, opening the box to reveal a chocolate cake. "Uncle Moon, you probably don't know. I've been helping people fix things on the street these past few days and earned some decent tips!"

So... is it your birthday?" Moon looked at the cake and then at Harry.

Harry quickly shook his head, "No, my birthday... was quite a few days ago. But I really wanted a cake, so..."

"This is from Muller's Cake Shop. Uncle Moon, try it." Harry changed the subject, "Unfortunately, they didn't have chocolate mousse cake. Have you tried it? It's delicious."

Moon suddenly realized, looking at Harry's bustling efforts to open the cake box, unsure of what expression to use. In the end, he could only smile helplessly.

"It's good. I haven't tried it yet."

"When I save enough money next time, we'll go and pre-order!" Harry suggested.

"Okay."

...

Harry devoured the cake with one hand and the lamb leg with the other, his mouth full of oil. In the end, he looked up and asked, "Uncle Moon, after dinner, are you going to the basement?"

"No." Moon shook his head, waving his hand in the air to create a trajectory.

"This symbol is something I deciphered from Thales's manuscript. It should represent moisture. Currently, it appears to be a structural component of magical runes such as Storm and Sea."

"So..." Harry mimicked Moon's trajectory with his hand.

"When you have a certain sensitivity to magical runes and their corresponding laws, you can perceive some changes in the surrounding environment. Through it, I sense that there will be a storm tonight."

Harry immediately understood what Moon was about to do, and he became a bit nervous. "So, are you going to become Animagus tonight?"

Moon nodded. "Waited for so many days, and it's finally here."

Harry looked at the gloomy sky, feeling a bit worried. From what he read in books, the process of becoming Animagus was very dangerous and could even result in death or turning into a mindless beast.

After dinner, Harry cleaned up the remnants, took the plates to the kitchen, and began the ritual of "Scourgify" repeatedly.

In no time, all the kitchen utensils were as clean as new.

Moon observed all this, then turned his gaze away. He opened the door and walked to the edge of the cliff.

The sky was now dark, heavy clouds pressing down, and the storm even rustled Moon's clothes.

With a snap.

Raindrops, the size of beans, started to fall. It had begun!

Harry didn't know when he stood in the doorway, sitting on the steps of the vestibule. Lucifer also brought over a brazier and sat beside him.

What's even more unexpected was that Meteor stood next to the door, watching Moon outside.

"Can you see?" Lucifer glanced at the broomstick beside Harry. It dared not get too close to him, fearing being ignited.

Gurgling—

The broomstick head of Meteor's broomstick bent consecutively, evidently nodding.
