Chapter 7: Hermione Granger
I immediately dig into my food.
"Did you notice that the hat didn't scream Blaise's name?" Pansy asks.
"Yes. Why do think that happened?"
"I don't know..."
I look around, and see Theo trying to get my attention at the Slytherin table.
"Psst! Pansy!"
"What?"
"Look!" I say, pointing at Theodore.
He points at Blaise, then points at out table.
"What does that mean?" I ask.
"Maybe Blaise wanted to get sorted into Griffindor?" Pansy suggests.
Theodore points at Blaise, points at his table, and shakes his head.
"Oh! Blaise didn't want to be put in Slytherin. Why?" Pansy asks, frowning.
"I don't know, but whatever it is, you shouldn't discuss," Harry says.
I gasp.
"Have you been listening to our conversation?" I accuse.
"Yes. And so was half of the people over here," Harry says.
A few people around look at their plates.
"Wow... I expected better!" Pansy exclaims.
Before anyone can comment, a redhead stands up from our table.
"ATTENTION! My name is Percy Weasley, and I'm a prefect. Please follow me to the common room!" Percy announces, leaving the hall.
One by one, we follow Percy out of the Great Hall and towards a painting of a middle aged brunette wearing a pink dress.
"Hello. Ooh! First years!" she exclaims, examining us.
"Yes, these are the first years. Pigs Snout," Percy says.
The painting swings open to reveal a room with red and gold banners with lions on them, red sofas, two fireplaces on either side, and stairs on both sides.
Percy leads us inside ans starts to explain some things.
"That was the Fat Lady. Each week, the password changes. This is the Griffindor common room. On the right side is the boy dormitory, on the left side is the girl domintory. You stuff is already in your room."
Right after he finishes speaking, I grab Pansy's hand and run up the stairs.
"Felix!" Pansy exclaims.
"Here we are!" I say, running into a room with four four-poster beds.
"Woah..." Pansy says, letting go of my hand.
There is one window in our room. But the view... We have a view of the Black Lake and the Forbidden Forest.
"Are you my roommates?" a girl with bushy hair asks, entering the room.
I look around and see our trunks by two of the beds.
"Yes we are. My name's Felicity Riddle. You can call me Felix," I say.
"Hermione Granger," the girl says, sitting on her bed.
"My name is Pansy Parkinson," Pansy adds.
"Nice to meet you," Hermione replies.
Pansy and I go sit on our respective beds.
"So. Up for a game of Exploding Snap?" I offer.
Hermione studies me for a second.
"I would love to! I've never played before!" she exclaims.
As I take out the game, Pansy asks something.
"Are you muggle born?"
"Yes actually, why?"
"That explains it," Pansy says.
"Explains what?"
"Why you haven't played Exploding Snap before," I say.
"Oh," Hermione sighs.
"Well, let's play!"
