These people use pure magic, in pure magic there is also various way to become invisible but if you use pure magic, you might become invisible to common mages and commoners, but if someone with high caliber of magic detects unnatural magic around him.. he will immediately knows that there is someone hiding in shadow but thankfully enchantment magic does not leave any trace of pure magic or magic itself.. or it could be understood as natural phenomena after all it is part of natural occurrence like rain, shadow, light..
