Chapter 28: Chapter 28 - The Corrupted Holy Grail
Emiya Residence, Rin's room.
"Archer, why you didn't come when I just call you an hour ago!"
Rin right now is feel very angry to her Servant. Because when she needed him so much he didn't come at all when she try to call him.
"Sigh, Rin, there is a dangerous Servant that was silently watching this Residence that I just found out about an hour ago," Archer said who feel irritated to his Master. "And the reason why I cannot come when you calling me was because I was busy in fighting him."
"What there is a Servant that watching this house and then you having a fight with that Servant without telling me?" Rin Shouted.
"I don't have a time to telling you, because I'm too busy in fighting that Servant," Archer said with another sigh. "That Servant is not easy to fight you know, thankfully I can win againts him. Or he will be pain in the ass to fight."
"So you are win againts that Servant, huh," Rin said who look relieved. "Thank goodness then, because if I lose you when the Servant that participated in the Holy Grail War is still alot then I can achieve my goal to reach the Root."
"Assasin is a Servant that really hard to fight you know," Archer said. "If not because of I attacking him from a long distance to wound him when he was unaware then my fight with him will result making me having a big wound even though I will the fight."

A couple minutes later in the Emiya Residence living room. With Shirou, Saber and also Rin.
"From a seven Servant, there is six Servant left that still alive. After Assasin was killed by Archer I think the Holy Grail War will become more intense," Rin said in a serious tone. "So I think we must to be more careful from now onwards."
"Archer defeated Assasin?" Asked Saber who look shocked. "When did he defeated Assasin?"
"He defeated Assasin about ten minutes ago," Rin replied. "About more than one hour ago when he found out that Assasin was watching this house, Archer decided to engage in a fight with Assasin and then defeat that Servant."
'Archer defeat Assasin? Then that means Kojiro Sasaki was not the Assasin of this timeline but the true Assasin Hassan I Sabbah the old man of the mountains,' Shirou said who feel surprised by what Archer has achieved. 'It look like the past that I experience almost reoccur, thankfully Archer was succed in defeating Assasin or something bad will happen. It look like I must try to protect Sakura more harder so that she will not become evil once more.'
"With the Holy Grail War become more intense then I and Archer must to work hard to win the war. And then when I became the winner of the Holy Grail War then the long goal of my family to reach the Root will be done, and then my family didn't need to participate in the Holy Grail War anymore!" Rin said who look very deteminated.

Shirou really want to tell Rin that, is useless to try to win the Holy Grail War. Because the Holy Grail was corrupted, so there is no way that the goal of her family to reach the root can be achieved. But he doesn't have a heart to tell her about that.
Because Shirou knew how important to reach the Root for Rin. So Shirou decide that it will be better if Rin found out about the corrupted Holy Grail War by herself.
When Shirou just stop thinking about the corrupted Holy Grail War, suddenly Arturia saying the words that made Shirou feel really shock.
"Rin there is a chance that even if you win the Holy Grail War your wish cannot be granted. Because ten years ago, Kiritsugu my former Master asking me to destroy the Holy Grail for the reason that I didn't knew. Kiritsugu was a man that was never doing something that drastic without a reason so I think there was a bad thing inside the Holy Grail that made him asking me to destroy the Grail."
Saber words making Rin feel shocked, she really didn't expect that Saber will say something like that.
While Archer who already knew about the corrupted Grail still look calm and didn't feel shock at all even though inside his heart he feel as surprised as Rin because of the words from Saber.

"Saber are the thing that you just said to me is a truth?" Asked Rin with a very disappointed look on her faces. "You didn't try to lie to me are you?"
"No, all the thing I said just now was a truth," Saber replied. "There is something wrong with the Holy Grail."
"If what you said was right then the training that I do for the last ten years was only wasting time," Rin said with a very sad expression on her faces and tears that rolling down from her eyes. "Because the Holy Grail was corrupted and cannot be used to granted my wish!"
"Even if the Holy Grail was corrupted then as the Second Owner of the Fuyuki where the Holy Grail War was being held I think you having a job clean the corrupted Holy Grail and then making the Holy Grail War like it was used to be," Shirou said who try to calm Rin and cheer her up. "Isn't what I was said a right thing Tohsaka?"
"Even if what you said was right, what is the benefit I will get for cleansing that damn corrupted Holy Grail!" Rin replied in anger. "Tell me Emiya-kun what is the benefit that I will get! Because I'm really sure that I will get nothing when I'm doing that because I'm not sure that even if I try to clean the corrupted Holy Grail can even grant my wish! So please give me a reason why did I must to clean that damn Grail!"

"I think there is little chance that the Grail can retain it function if you try to clean the stain that corrupted the Grail," Shirou said who knew about the caused that stain the Grail because before he going back to the past Zelretch giving him a memories about Angra Mainyuu that corrupted the Holy Grail. "Even though there is also a chance that the Holy Grail will not retain it function after you clean the Gail but atleast you can make the Tohsaka clan having a glory because you doing something that can make you having a good impression for your family."
Rin then start to think about what Shirou said and then taking a conclusion that what Shirou said was not wrong because even though the Grail cannot retain it function even after she clean the stain that corrupted the Grail she still can have a glory that will make her having a nice impression for the Magus Asociation. And she maybe can become the student of the Wizard Marshall Zelretch that can be said as a big achievement for her as a Magus even though she cannot reach the root.
"Hmm I think you was right Emiya-kun," Rin said while touching her chin. "Maybe I can get some profit even though I cannot reach the root like what my family wanted."
Shirou feel relieved that Rin is calmer now and want to hear his word. Because he himself not sure that the words that he just said was enough to calm her down.

Archer who are the conversation between Rin, Shirou and Saber from the rooftop of the Emiya Residence can only sighed when finally Rin knew about the truth about the Holy Grail.
From the beginning Archer didn't tell anything about the corrupted Holy Grail to Rin to keep the history of the fifth Holy Grail War that he already seen for a countless times almost remains the same like the other Holy Grail War that he participated into.
But right now the words from Saber already change the usual Fifth Holy Grail War. And Archer cannot do anything to change it, because he doesn't want Rin feel suspicious to him. Beside that Archer didn't really care if there is something different in current fifth Holy Grail War that he participated.
Because in the countless Fifth Holy Grail War that he participated in there always be something different even though it only a little. Even though right now the different was really big if he try to comparing it to the other Fifth Holy Grail War that made him a bit worried are this time he can kill hist past self or not.
Archer can feel that his past in the current fifth Holy Grail War was a bit different from the other him in the other Holy Grail War. This Shirou is look more stronger and more experience in fighting than he anticipated.
