Chapter 43: Royal Court

As Talon stood beside Paul, he received dark glares from everyone in the throne room, the nobles, and the general.

Even the king stared at him as someone would at a piece of filth because that was Talon in the eyes of everyone.

And while Talon was the one that received most of these stares of disgust, beside him Paul got some of them too, but he was used to it a long time ago.

Most shockingly, the four reapers did not show any amount of disgust or hatred on their face.

But this was it, no one said a word as they still waited for others to show up in the throne room.

"I can never get used to this, Paul." Whispered Talon to Paul next to him who just showed a light smile while his gaze was fixated towards the king before he said.

"Don't worry, you will in time…" Said back Paul, his smile fading before he murmured in such a low voice that even Talon couldn't pick up what he was saying. "If we have time."
