Chapter 40: Cat Fight
"To think that my body is in peak condition, but the reflexes is poor due to not being active in sports. I need to retrain my weak body in order to overpower Deviants. I might be able to overpower a normal person, but Deviants are a different matter." Adrian thought as he brooded the most effective way for him to train.
Adrian then looked towards Jihan as he would be the best example to learn of the fighting techniques. He then heard the grunts and screams of the two female deviants that are fighting one another. It seems that they are not only exchanging blows but also hurling out insults.
"You sly vixen!" Patricia stated as she threw out a kick with her left leg that Esme dodged.
"You immature hag!" Esme stated as she went for an uppercut, but Patricia used her spinning momentum to dodge. She is still hit on her shoulder area and stumbled a few steps.
"Why do they have some pent-up rage against one another?" Adrian asked Jihan as he could see that the girls seem to low key have hatred for one another. The hatred they are emitting is not like the 'I want to kill you type' but more of the petty hatred that teenage girls have because of jealousy.
"I think it stems on the fact that Patricia flirted with Dustan before. You do know of Esme's situation, right?" Jihan whispered the answer as he did not want the two girls to hear it and then suddenly attack him.
"In my eyes, they are quite close though. You can see that they have firm understanding of one another. That is what I read from their auras at least. They do have petty hatred for one another though." Adrian whispered back.
"You do not even look that great!" Patricia stated as she tried to trip Esme's foot, but the latter jumped to avoid it.
"Says the one who is constantly using her ability to look youthful and fresh. Your real face I wrinkled all over." Esme stated as she pinned Patricia down on the ground earning her win in the sparring match.
"I thought that Patricia would win!" Jihan suddenly exclaimed.
"Never underestimate the power of probability and statistics. As we agreed upon, you will clean the aircraft tomorrow. Have fun scrubbing the deck as well." Whiz stated as he celebrated.
"Oh! I will have fun all right once I finish thrashing you around. You will not be able to move tomorrow due to body ache. I can assure that." Jihan stated and the painful screams of Whiz echoed in the training room.

"We are now moving on into honing your abilities. Most of you here can already perfectly control your abilities. Although, you can control them that does not mean that all of you have mastered it.
For example, how do you guys control your abilities under pressure? Like when you are trapped inside a magic formation that induces illusions and your fears? That is why you guys will be helping Adrian with his training that also doubles your training." Joe explained.
"So, you are saying that cutie right there will use his powers to attempt to hinder us from using our abilities? I should say in advance that I am a spy that has honed my skills for a few years so do not get offended if you cannot break me." Patricia stated attempting to look cool.
"Is there a right to avoid this training?" Whiz stated as he raised his right hand.
"I will agree as long as he does not pry into our deepest memories. I do not want a weirdo knowing what my secrets are." Esme stated as she remembered what happened to Sofia.
"Oh! Do not worry as even I do not like diving to the deepest parts of your mental psyche. I am an empath so do remember that I also feel what you guys feel which means I also get hurt…kind of." Adrian replied.
"That is a bit sad." Jihan unconsciously replied which made Adrian chuckle as a regular human actually pities him.
"You do not need to worry about him as he is already accustomed to sad events. He basically lives through it his whole life." Joe stated as the team is starting to get rowdy.
"That is even sadder. Do you need big sister to cuddle you at night?" Patricia stated as she acted cute in front of Adrian.
"I know that I hate you but even I do not want to give you to him despite me not liking him also." Esme retorted.
"Yah!" Patricia shouted as her eyes grew bigger with her mouth due to the sudden verbal attack.
"We should get started. So, what do we need to do?" Dustan asked.
"It is simple. We shall first start off with all of you using all of your abilities at the same time. You do not need to fully focus but just using it sparingly." Joe stated.
"For Dustan, you will keep spinning this metal coin. For Esme, you need to juggle these three marbles. For Whiz, you just need to make this phone type numbers in ascending order.
For Jihan, you need to transfer your chi in this balloon without it popping. For Patricia, you just need to keep transforming your hand from a child's hand to an adult's hand." Sofia added.
"Would that not make Adrian have a harder time since he will use his abilities in all five of us?" Dustan asked as he knows that Adrian can only focus on one person at a time depending on the range.
"We did that in order to control the environment should Adrian's abilities become chaotic just like what you reported. It is also good practice for him so that he could go into extremely crowded areas once again. Does everyone know what they are going to do?" Joe stated.
"Yes!" Everyone answered.
"If everyone is ready then just say that you are ready." Joe state as they now moved on to the next phase of the training.
