Chapter 5: 5 A Big Problem II
Veer was walking around in his room, worried about how to raise three crores. Then an idea comes to his mind, 'Khurana Uncle'. On taking Khurana's name, Khurana's hologram suddenly appears in his mobile, seeing which Veer gets scared like always.
"Yes son, you called me?" Khurana says.
"Uncle, are you Aladdin's genie, that I take your name, and you appear?" Veer genuinely wants to know this.
Khurana laughs and says, "Hey son, I had set up voice commands on your mobile, so that in any problem you can call me, I can come to your help quickly."
On hearing this, Veer wants to ask him whether he has any other work apart from this or not, but due to the fear of not getting money, he does not ask and remains silent.
"Tell me son, what help do you need?" Khurana asks.
"I need help uncle-" Veer was still saying this when Khurana said, "Then come to my lab, I will show you the lab and we will talk, I have sent the location on your mobile, look, ok, see you soon." Saying this Khurana disconnects the call, all this happens so fast that Veer is pleasantly surprised, he thinks that Khurana is such a big scientist, so he must have at least three crores.
Veer reaches the address given by Khurana and looks around. He is looking around imagining a big, tall glass building, thinking that after all he is such a big scientist, Khurana uncle his office must also be wonderful but there he saw only an old, dilapidated house.
Veer was confused when Khurana came running out of that dilapidated house, "Hey son, you have come. Welcome-welcome, welcome to my lab."
Only one thought comes to Veer's mind after listening to Khurana, 'After digging a mountain, a mouse came out.' Khurana takes him inside by holding his hand and dragging him.
After coming inside, Veer felt that 'brother, the buffalo has gone into the water', because even the junk shop was better than that house.
Now Veer could not control his emotions and asked his question, "Uncle, you were saying that you are a great scientist?" On this, Khurana gets confused, "Ha, ha, ha, why? Why, has anyone said anything else?"
Veer sarcastically says, "No, it looks like that after seeing such a big office," Veer is still saying this when Khurana presses a button nearby, due to which the whole floor starts moving and starts going down like a lift, Veer almost stumbles and falls but Khurana supports him.
"This, this, this, this, what is this uncle, ha?" Veer says this in a panic but in response Khurana just smiles. Veer wants to abuse him seeing him smiling in such a situation, but he remains quiet for fear of not getting his money later. Now the lift stops, and a door opens. Veer's eyes get blinded by a bright white light and he starts closing his eyes. Whatever he sees through those closed eyes, he just keeps looking at it. A huge lab where high tech machines are installed everywhere, huge screens are installed on which different data and videos are running, fumes are coming out of big tubes and robotic hands are busy in their work. It looked more like Iron Man's workshop than Khurana's lab. Veer feels as if he has reached the world of his dreams. "Wow uncle this is a sensation" Hearing Veer's mousy words Khurana gets happy like a girl gets happy on hearing praise of her beauty.
"This is my lab. My..." Khurana says praising himself and starts looking at his machines as if they are not machines but his pets.
"Tell me son what help do you need, whatever you say I will give you, after all you are my friend's son." Khurana asks Veer very lovingly.
Getting so much freedom Veer says boldly "Uncle I need three crore rupees." Hearing this Khurana slips on his own machine and narrowly escapes falling down and while regaining his balance he asks in surprise "What did you say son, tell me once again, you said three crores? Did I hear it correctly."
"Yes, uncle you can give it, right?" Veer asks.
Khurana now straightens himself up and becomes serious and explains to Veer, "Look son, all this that you are seeing is not my personal property, the government has given it to me." After that he says tearfully, "I have not seen 3 crores in my entire life, so how can I give it to you?"
Veer gets even more angry seeing Khurana in such a pitiable state, "Does that mean you cannot help me?"
"I-I-I ca-ca-can, son. And I will, I will help you. If you want, I will give you a job in my lab and will also get you a salary of twenty thousand, really."
'Twenty thousand salary, hmm.....' Veer was not very good at math, but he takes out his mobile and calculates and finds out that it will take him 125 years to save 3 crores with a salary of twenty thousand. "Uncle, in such a long time my grandchildren will also become old, then what will I do with this money?"
Khurana is helpless and Veer is angry. Veer is about to leave from there in anger when his eyes fall on a red telephone booth kept there which looks like it is made of wood. Veer is surprised that what is this old-fashioned telephone booth doing in such a high-tech lab. To satisfy his curiosity, he finally asks Khurana uncle.
Khurana's eyes start shining as he sees Veer asking about that red telephone booth. And Dr. Khurana starts telling Veer about that red booth "Veer son, everyone knows that in the entire universe, Earth is the only planet where life is found, however, in the last few years, our scientists have found some planets like our Earth, where signs of life have been found, people like us, animals like us and plants like us. But they look very different from us. In common language, we call such people, aliens or people from another world." Dr. Khurana explains to Veer and Veer tries to understand his point.
"Aliens! Like Aamir Khan was in PK movie. But uncle, such people are only found in movies and stories, right? I mean that I have not seen any alien in real life till date. Yes, in my childhood, I also had a dream that like the Men in Black movie, I too would encounter an alien, then I grew up and started taking this dream as a joke because I understood that all this is just a lie. It happens only in stories." Veer was quite confused after listening to Dr. Khurana.
Dr. Khurana seeing Veer confused said smilingly, "Our films and stories are also somehow connected to our real life, Veer and now even science has accepted that aliens exist. Well, forget it, now I will tell you how this thing is related to you."
And then Veer starts listening to him attentively.
