After keeping the call, she wiped away the smile from her face with which she was speaking with him.

The whole notion of being friendly and cordial with someone who had attempted to kill the love of her life wasn't something that came naturally to her. She had to drink a pail of poison, every single time that she attempted to even talk with him.
