Colette drove up to the first house that she and Nora were going to tour with excitement in her eyes. She parked the car in the driveway and got out, adjusting the coat around her shoulders.
Rosie had opted to stay home, and Colette couldn’t blame her for that. She’d feel jumpy too, going so close to where she’d been snatched.
She was wearing a casual blouse and nice pants, and a heavy winter jacket to stay warm. Nora was wearing her signature black leather jacket and some jeans, and of course, her round sunglasses.
Colette took her hand as they walked up the steps to the entryway, Colette admiring the architecture and the fleur-de-lis present above the doorway. It was made out of finely weathered gold and surrounded by a few painted cement flowers.
The realtor greeted them both and Nora began to translate what she was saying for Colette, as the two women spoke in French to one another.
“She says it comes with a pool and five bedrooms.”
