Chapter 108: Caleb Turner. A Should-Be-Fatal Mistake (Part 2)

Caleb sauntered down the few steps it took to get to the lower level warily until he was low enough to be able to look over the railing at the landing below. He was used to scaling the stairwell in the dark; he had memorised every step to take him safely up and down the different levels. He had gone many nights in the past without a lamp or candle to aid him, only his sense of touch and a little bit of feeling around with his feet to guide him. 

When he looked down, no teenagers could be found. The bottom stairs were deserted. 

The stagnant air of the stairwell entered his nose, making his nostrils flare as he bounded across the ground landing and headed for the door that leads to the lobby.
