Chapter 41: GET DOWN AND DIRTY

It took a while before Angelou's body finally succumbed to sleep after being injected with sedation. I didn't leave her side, not until Black arrived, together with a few more bodyguards to guard her. 

I had a lot of work I needed to do. My mind was too occupied with the investigation, the preparations for Cecille's wake and burial and Angelou's safety. Once outside the hospital, I instantly called Emma and put her in charge of the preparations needed for the aftermath of Cecille's death. My father had left an hour earlier after I told him that I would take care of everything. 

Inside the police station, my eyes immediately caught sight of Cristina, who was still temporarily detained and was seated at the corner of the station. Her eyes, exhausted and frightened, bore at me the minute she saw me arrive.
