Chapter 21: ALMH Chapter 20: Rising Tensions

The kingdom of Karneth was alive with excitement as soldiers, archers, guards and other volunteers prepare for the impending battle against the orc hordes approaching from the north.

All along the Northern and Southern walls, the royal Karnethian army is stationing their forces and preparing their defenses. Ballistae, cannons, and archer towers are being stocked and prepared, and the royal Karnethian soldiers are split to man both walls. Other volunteers quickly gather firewood, build new boiling oil cauldrons, and repair and restock defensive weapons. The King addressed the people of Karneth and tried to keep the unrest at bay.

"My beloved people of Karneth," the King begins his speech, speaking to the assembled crowds in the marketplace square at night. His words are met with concern and worry as news of the orc's approaching horde travels quickly through the city.
