His sword gripped tight as he charged toward the black knight group before him. Lais was shaking with the sword in his hand, covering the soldiers from behind; his eyes watched the red sky, counting the time when Waiz would arrive with backup. He chuckled when he saw the red sky from the fire burns. From trying to defend the wall, it turned into a survival fight.
"I should have predicted this." He murmured, slapping himself as he clashed the sword with another black knight.
This one was powerful. "YOUR HIGHNESS BEHIND YOU."
A scream made him turn in fear, but that attack never reached him. The black knight was stopped in his tracks by Egil. He looked pale, and Lais's eyes traveled to his right side. The cloak was hastily tied up to stop the bleeding. Lais felt his heart drop when he saw Egil.
"You …" His voice shook.
Egil moved and slashed another black knight behind the prince. "Your Highness, please stay alert."
