Marcus took a deep breath and nodded in approval. “Alright, I will take off your rope. Do not try any tricks or else… ”

The young guard’s voice shook as he made his way to where Maria was standing. “What is there to threaten me with? I am going to die anyway. Just wish to die first.”

The young guard felt the shivers again but with the help of his partner, they cut off the rope from her hand and escorted her to the front. The other black knights who were standing in line before she raised their heads. The attitude of Maria did not surprise them only made them long her more. “Lady Maria what are you doing?”

The black knight whose turn it was to go at first reached out for her elbows but was limited as the rope tying their hands together pulled them back. His hands were back as his head moved forward making him jerk back to his position.

“This is not a step of bravery, I do not wish to see you die first thus, I am taking such a step,” Maria whispered only for the kid’s ears.
