Chapter 90: Whose Side Are You On?

In secret, the siblings had been sparring with each other. Safira wanted to understand the way the Ancients fought to improve her own skills too. During that time, she was quick to notice that Wendell always had a certain look in his eyes when they fought.

On one occasion, she also saw him while he was hunting. That look in his eyes when he chased down his prey was the look he had in his eyes now.

"Wendell, may the best wolf win," Safira declared with a smile, hoping to use the opportunity to see if she could spot any more signs.

The male wolf simply growled at her. He was the first to attack. Wendell shifted into his wolf form immediately and lunged at her. Safira was taken aback. She took a few steps backward, putting distance between them.

But it wasn't enough. She was still within reach. So, she received a blow to her arms. Safira winced in pain from the claw marks. Blood dripped from the fresh wounds.
