Varya had been previously warned by Ebari that she would be expected to enter only after Emperor Kruos asked for her.

As she made her way down the long room, she had to will herself forward with each step. The cold expression on the face of the emperor was harder to face than she expected it to be.

His distinct grey skin and dark lips caused her to remember every horrible thing she had been put through by his hands. She was expecting to be afraid, but, surprisingly, she was starting to become angry.

The silver-haired woman wanted to ask what else he could take away from her. She wanted to spout off about how Prince Basileus would take his spot one day.

Varya would never tell anyone, but she wished it could be her who would defeat the tyrant one day. She wanted the satisfaction of knowing she was the one who stopped his evil.

When she was halfway to the throne, she did as she was instructed by Ebari and bowed to the emperor, hating each moment she was forced to respect him.
