Early the next morning, as Reiki woke up to prepare breakfast for Tsunade, he was pleasantly surprised to find her already in the living room, a bright smile on her face. The table was laden with a variety of foods.
"These are...?" he asked, swallowing hard, his curiosity piqued.
"Don't worry; they're all edible," Tsunade replied proudly. "I've tried them all myself."
Reiki blinked, taken aback by the transformation in her demeanor. Compared to the previous night, she seemed like a completely different person. **Could it be that she was able to bear the blow?**
"Well, it's delicious," he said sincerely, a genuine smile spreading across his face. "Teacher, this is not bad at all!"
Tsunade chuckled, clearly pleased with the compliment.
Just then, the door swung open, and a familiar voice chimed in.
"Sister, I'm going to school… eh?"
The little boy, Nawaki, paused as he took in the sight of the breakfast spread. "Sister, why are you up so early making food?"
"Just in time, I'll have some too—"
Before he could finish, he was sent flying out of the Senju Clan with a loud thud.
"Didn't I praise my sister for getting up early?" he shouted as he soared through the air.
Reiki winced at the sight of Nawaki's dramatic exit. **As expected, the last person to provoke in this world is a strong sister like Tsunade...**
"Uh, Tsunade-sensei, what are you planning to do next?" Reiki asked, trying to steer the conversation back to a more serious note.
Despite Tsunade's smile, he sensed a deeper turmoil beneath the surface. Losing her grandfather and experiencing a sudden upheaval in her family had to have taken its toll.
"Nothing bad," Tsunade said, her expression shifting slightly. "Now that I know, I'll just refuse him decisively. If he tries to pester me, I have ways to handle it."
Her bravado was apparent, but Reiki couldn't shake his concern.
"Okay, don't worry about it," she reassured him. "I'm not as fragile as you think."
Tsunade chuckled, her mood visibly brightening. **Yes, she was sad at first, but she was also strong.** The pain of realizing something she cherished was a lie was not easy to bear, but she had faced much worse in her life.
**"She's the princess of the Senju clan and the granddaughter of the two Hokage! She's resilient!"** Reiki thought, trying to instill confidence in her.
"I know, teacher," he continued. "Whatever you have in mind or want to do next, I will support you unconditionally."
"I'm going to do my morning exercises first," he added, getting to his feet and heading outside.
As he left the yard, Tsunade watched him with an appreciative smile.
**"This little guy... sometimes he's really something,"** she thought, feeling warmth in her heart.
Once outside, however, Reiki spotted Kato Dan approaching. The man was likely here to see Tsunade, convinced that last night's events might have created an opening for him.
"Doctor Reiki, up early for training?" Kato Dan greeted him, trying to strike up a friendly conversation.
"Ah," Reiki replied curtly. "Master Dan, I'm going first."
He didn't bother to engage further. Tsunade was not the type to be swayed easily by flattery, and Kato Dan's attempts felt transparent to him.
Watching Reiki walk away, Kato Dan felt a pang of awkwardness. **"This kid seems cautious,"** he thought. **"But as long as Tsunade recognizes me, his opinion doesn't matter."**
With a dismissive wave, Kato Dan strode toward the Senju Clan.
A few seconds later, a loud crash echoed through the courtyard.
"Boom!"
Kato Dan was sent flying out of the Senju Clan, landing heavily on the ground.
"Did you... quarrel with the teacher?" Reiki asked, feigning innocence as he approached the fallen man.
"Yeah, there might be some misunderstandings between us," Kato Dan replied, his voice strained as he clutched his ribs.
Reiki could hardly suppress a smirk. **"The more he tries to win her over, the angrier Tsunade-sensei will be."**
Watching Kato Dan retreat in frustration, Reiki felt a sense of satisfaction.
"Seriously, what is this guy doing wrong? He must be a heart-stealing liar..."
Inside the Hokage's office, Sarutobi Hiruzen looked perplexed as he listened to Kato Dan's report.
"You don't know why?" Hiruzen asked, furrowing his brow. "That's impossible. You two were supposed to be getting closer. Tsunade even took Reiki to treat your injuries. How could things have changed so suddenly?"
"I don't know," Kato Dan replied, frustration bubbling to the surface. "I haven't spoken a word to her in the last three days. Every time I try to approach, I get kicked out." He pointed to the various bruises and broken ribs that adorned his body.
"Stay calm," Sarutobi advised, attempting to regain control of the situation. "I'll arrange a suitable task for you. Let's see how things develop."
Sarutobi's sharp mind failed to realize that the turmoil was entirely the work of a child, albeit an intelligent and capable one.
Kato Dan nodded, albeit reluctantly, as he left the office, more confused than ever about how to win Tsunade's affections.
