Chapter 10: Captain America

The mood in the room was still electric from the successful transformation of Steve Rogers.

Logan, Hank, and Laura quietly approached Steve to congratulate him, each with their own thoughts on the implications of this new Super Soldier. But before they could exchange words, a loud and unexpected *BOOM* echoed through the facility.

The observation room exploded into chaos. The blast sent shockwaves through the facility, shattering glass and throwing people off their feet. Thick smoke and debris filled the air, and the once-celebratory atmosphere turned into one of sheer panic and confusion.

Hank and Laura ducked, pretending to be affected by the blast as they eyed the guy responsible for this.

Meanwhile Logan was already on his work, he had vanished from his position only to reappear right where he once stood, it all happened in a second.

In that momentbof confusion, the Hydra agent—who had been undercover as a scientist—seized his opportunity. His target was clear: Dr. Abraham Erskine and the last vial of the Super Soldier Serum. The agent pulled out a concealed gun and shot Dr. Erskine in the chest. The doctor collapsed clutching his wound as his life was fading away.

The Hydra agent then turned his attention to the injection section of the machine where the last vital of the serum was. But to his shock and frustration, the vial was gone.

His eyes widened and he is trying to find where it went, it's his job to secure the last vital to replicate the Super Soldier serum.

Just as the agent processed this failure, Peggy Carter sprang into action. She drew her sidearm and opened fire on the agent who then ran away from there. The Hydra operative dodged her shots and made a dash for the exit.

Amidst the chaos, Steve Rogers rushed to Dr. Erskine's side.

The doctor, barely clinging to life, looked up at Steve with pained eyes. With what little strength he had left, Dr. Erskine placed a trembling hand on Steve's chest, as if trying to impart one final piece of wisdom. No words were needed. Steve was now the living embodiment of everything the doctor had worked for.

He wanted Steve to follow his heart as it is what makes him truly strong, and with that message Dr. Erskine took his last breath as his hand slipping away and his life faded.

"Dr. Erskine, no..."

The rest of the scene unfolded much like in the original Captain America story. The Hydra agent bolted out of the facility, but Steve, driven by both anger and duty, was hot on his heels. Logan knows that Steve needed to do this on his own and didn't interfere. Instead, he watched as Steve's newfound abilities came to life.

The chase was intense. Steve's enhanced speed and agility allowed him to catch up to the fleeing agent, showcasing the true power of the Super Soldier Serum. They weaved through the streets, Steve displaying strength and endurance far beyond that of a normal human. But despite his efforts, the Hydra agent managed to escape, thanks to his cyanide capsule—a final, desperate act of loyalty to his cause.

Back at the facility, the aftermath of the explosion left everyone shaken. Peggy, Logan, Hank, and Laura surveyed the damage, knowing that this was just the beginning of war.

**The Next day**

Colonel Chester Phillips was not a man easily impressed.

He watched Steve Rogers standing in front of him who just gave his blood to try to replicate the serum, the newly transformed Super Soldier, but his face remained stern, betraying none of the excitement that had filled the room just moments before.

To him, Steve was not what he had hoped for. He wanted an army—hundreds of Super Soldiers—not just one man, no matter how enhanced.

"Look, Rogers," Phillips began, his voice gruff and direct. "You might be stronger, faster, and tougher than you were yesterday, but you're still just one man. We're at war. We need an army, not a propaganda piece."

Steve stood at attention, the weight of Phillips' words pressing down on him. "Sir, I want to help. I can do more than what normal man can do."

Phillips shook his head, unimpressed. "What you want doesn't matter, Rogers. We have a war to win. The Crescent Pack will be leading the charge on the front lines, not some stage hero. You're strong, no doubt about that, but one man doesn't win a war."

"Sir, with all due respect, I may be just one man, but I can make a difference. I want to be out there, fighting alongside the men—"

Phillips cut him off, shaking his head. "You were never meant to be a soldier. You're just... one man with muscles. What we needed was an army of you, and now, thanks to Hydra, we've lost that chance."

"Then send me with the Crescent Pack. Let me fight with them."

"They won't accept other guys, it is one of the conditions they made to join the war." Colonel said this as he eyes Logan who has been silent since the beginning of the conversation.

To be honest Logan very much wanted to take Steve in, but not now, after his pack made more achievements and gain more footing, he'll get Rogers to the team.

Then the decision had been made. The Crescent Pack, led by Logan, was to be one of the main forces deployed.

Phillips saw strength in them which was more reliable, more tangible, than Steve's singular abilities.

Later, as Steve was pulled aside for his new assignment as the face of the war effort—a symbol rather than a soldier—Logan stood nearby, observing the conversation with a calculated look. He had seen men like Phillips before, men who valued pragmatism over potential, and he knew that being underestimated was sometimes an advantage.

When the briefing was over, Logan returned to the temporary base that the Crescent Pack had established.

The house they used as their headquarters was somewhat luxurious, it was practical and secluded, providing the privacy needed for the pack's activities.

Inside Hank was busy at one of the makeshift labs he had set up.

Logan entered, pulling out the last vial of the Super Soldier Serum that had been taken from the lab and placed it carefully on the table in front of Hank.

"Hank, I want you to take a look at this," Logan said, his tone serious. "See what you can figure out. If there's any way to make this useful for the pack, I want to know."

Hank picked up the vial, his eyes narrowing in concentration as he examined it. "This serum... it's unlike anything we've seen before. Dr. Erskine's formula, from what I could tell, amplifies everything about a person—their strength, their agility, even their resilience. But it's also dangerous. Erskine's rejection of the pack as test subjects tells us he knew it might interact unpredictably with our physiology."

Logan nodded understanding it was made for humans not werewolfs like them. "We need every advantage we can get for the future hank. I'm not asking for immediate results—take your time. Add it to the list, we'll get more betas who are skilled in biology, take your time."

Hank nodded, setting the vial down with a careful hand. "I'll do what I can, Logan."

Logan placed a firm hand on Hank's shoulder. "I know, Hank. That's why I'm trusting you with this. Take your time."

Then Logan left the room leaving hank in the room, he sighed as got another one of a headache project on his list.

----

Over the next few weeks, while Steve was busy becoming a household name through his patriotic movies and stage shows, Logan and his pack were out in the field, making significant contributions to the war effort.

Steve's performances as Captain America quickly became legendary, his bravery and determination on-screen for civilians. Steve got fame but his performances were a constant reminder that he was being held back from the real fight.

Meanwhile, Logan and his pack operated in the field, taking on the most dangerous missions with ruthless efficiency.

They became known for their ability to complete missions with a near-perfect success rate, often leaving behind nothing but rumors and the lingering fear of those who dared to oppose them.

----

A few days later, Laura and Peggy Carter approached Logan as he was reviewing maps and some reports.

Peggy exchanged some words before coming to the point, "Logan, we need to talk about Steve. He has potential, he just need a chance to prove himself."

"Peggy's right," Laura added, stepping closer to Logan. "Steve's got the heart of a warrior, but he's green. He could learn a lot from us, and we could use someone like him, it's a waste to let him rot in the films."

Logan leaned back in his chair, considering their words. "I don't doubt his potential. He's got a good heart and a strong sense of justice and it's not just about proving himself, Peggy. Steve's path is different. Right now, he's a symbol—something people can rally behind. That's important in its own way."

Peggy, though still somewhat dissatisfied, nodded in understanding. "I just don't want to see him sidelined. He's too valuable."

Logan's eyes softened slightly. "He won't be sidelined. Steve's going to do great things, but he needs to do them on his own first."

He leaned forward on his chair and then relayed the news he's been observing: 500 men, including Steve Rogers' best friend Bucky Barnes, had been captured by Hydra.

Logan leaned back again in his chair with a smile forming on his lips as he glanced at Peggy. "This is the chance I was talking about,"

Laura, sitting beside him, looked at him with curiosity. "What's the plan?"

Logan's eyes gleamed with a mix of anticipation and determination. "Simple. We let Steve know what's at stake. And the rest went can guess what's going to happen."

Peggy nodded, understanding the importance of this moment. She stood up, smoothing out her uniform. "I'll tell him about Bucky. Let's see what he decides."

Laura placed her hand over his shoulder and says "you want to show his strength and courage to everyone, don't you".

" Action speaks louder than words. Steve's strong and I know what kind of man he is. Right now, he's becoming famous for those movies and shows they're having him do. They need a face for the war effort, and he's perfect for that. Now with this opportunity they'll see his strength, not just physical and also moral."

Laura smiled as she kisses his cheek and rest her head over his shoulder.

----

Peggy quickly found Steve in his quarters, as he awaiting another one of his shows.

She then relayed the information to him, watching as his expression shifted.

"Bucky's been captured?" Steve asked with concern.

Peggy nodded. "Yes, along with 500 other men. But the decision is yours, Steve. Military doesn't want to save them, but what do you choose. Will you try to save them or leave them."

Steve stood up with determination. "I'm going to get them back. All of them."

Peggy smiled "you're going to need help for that, and I know who to ask."

Together they left the quarters, determined to save the men.

----

The night was calm, with the moon casting a soft glow over the military base. Logan stood near a helicopter, arms crossed, as he waited for the others.

Howard Stark was beside him, fiddling with some last-minute adjustments to the aircraft. The whirring of the rotors was a low hum in the background, blending with the distant sounds of the base.

Logan glanced at Howard as a grin spreading across his face. "So, Howard, you ever think about settling down? You know, finding the right woman, starting a family?"

Howard chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "Settle down, huh? Never really thought about it like that, but if you find someone who can handle all of this,"—he gestured to himself with a smirk—"then maybe it's worth considering."

Seeing Logan's expression turning serious, Howard's grin faltered for a moment, his expression growing a bit more serious. "I don't know... maybe one day I'll find someone who'll make me want to stop chasing. Someone who's worth sticking around for."

Logan nodded, looking out into the night. "When you do, don't let her go. Life's too short to waste on what-ifs."

Before Howard could reply, the sound of approaching footsteps drew their attention. Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter appeared out of the shadows, both of them looking ready for what lay ahead.

Steve nodded at Logan and Howard, his expression determined. "You ready to do this?"

Logan gave him a nod. "You're the one calling the shots tonight, kid. Just remember—this isn't just about Bucky. You're going to save all the men, and they're counting on you."

Steve looked Logan in the eye and replied with steady voice. "I won't let them down."

Howard slapped Steve on the back, grinning. "That's the spirit, Captain. Let's get you in the air so you can go save the day."

Peggy gave Steve a small, encouraging smile. "I'll be here when you get back, Steve. Be careful out there."

Steve nodded, then turned to Logan. "Thanks for this. I won't forget it."

Logan just gave him a brief nod, and turned to Peggy. "I'll make sure he'll come back in one piece." To the Peggy smiled and waves at them.

With that, they boarded the helicopter. The rotors spun faster, kicking up dust and wind as the aircraft prepared for takeoff.

Soon helicopter rose into the night sky, the mission to rescue the captured soldiers now fully underway.

----

Guys, Suggest me some names for the pack.

I'm trying to find good names but didn't get much. I'm thinking about Howling night Wolfs.

And I'm adding Natasha to the Harem after much thinking. Let's say MC have a red read fetish lol.
