Chapter 62: Making the potion

As time passed, the night grew darker and colder. The constant sounds of cars could hardly be heard on the streets.

Riding in the cab with the woman he bought at the black market, Kane arrived at 12th Street Etern Dawn in the Eburnean district.

He paid the driver and got out with the woman, who hadn't said a word since they had left the black market. It was clear to Kane that the woman's attitude was mainly due to her guilt; she had killed the guy right next to her.

He looked at her for a moment before entering the house with her. Once inside, Kane set the things he bought on the table and looked at the woman standing like a statue.

The woman, with a lifeless look, watched Kane as he began to undress. Silent tears were streaming down her cheeks. Even though she didn't want to, there was nothing she could do. She had no strength and no money; what could she do at this point to survive? Nothing; she only had her body.
