Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Have you been married?
Sister Hua, standing to the side, keenly sensed that the tone between the two was off. No wonder Lin Ke was adamant about not letting Lin Miao'er into the circle.
Lin Ke smiled, "If Sister likes this profession, then I'll have to trouble Sister Hua to take care of her more in the future."
Lin Miao'er understood. This return, some things were destined not to go smoothly.
Originally, her choice for an agent wasn't Sister Hua but another male agent. However, due to his circumstances, she had no choice but to be pushed to Sister Hua's hands. She had planned to thoroughly investigate Sister Hua's background, but before she could, she bumped into Lin Ke.
But, no matter what awaited her, she didn't care anymore.
"Keke!" behind her, a deep voice came, so familiar that the man's face burst unnaturally into her mind.
It was Su Shenghang.
She looked up to see Su Shenghang's hand already naturally holding Lin Ke's. Indeed, the togetherness five years ago wasn't just drunkenness but had been premeditated for a long time.
The calm and imperturbable Lin Miao'er, at the second Su Shenghang appeared, a fissure flashed through her gaze.
He was the first and so far the only boy she had liked. She had given so much, but what she got in return was deceit and betrayal. She didn't know how long this pain would torment her.
"Young Master Su is too considerate. You've been together for five years, and you come to pick up Keke from work every day. I'm envious!" said Sister Hua.
Su Shenghang turned around with a smile and saw Lin Miao'er in front of him. A trace of strangeness flickered through his deep eyes; after five years, Lin Miao'er had actually appeared!
She was still as radiant and openly sensual as she was five years ago, while Lin Ke's beauty was that of a fragile and delicate kind, completely incomparable to Lin Miao'er.
Back then, he didn't know why he had lost his sense and ended up with Lin Ke. Clearly, Lin Miao'er was always in his heart.
After she left the Lin Family, he had secretly inquired about her but was utterly unable to contact her. In order to preserve the face of both the Su and Lin families, he soon announced the news of being together with Lin Ke.
Lin Miao'er remained silent, but she didn't expect that the unexpected was still to come.
Lin Ke continued, "It's perfect timing for Sister to come back. Sheng Hang and I are about to get engaged. You have to come then!"
"No problem!" Lin Miao'er agreed cheerfully, "It's just that I didn't expect it to be five years already. I thought you two would've married and had children by now!"
Lin Ke's expression faltered for a second. She also wanted to marry Su Shenghang soon and become part of the Su Family, but the elders of the Su Family were reluctant to accept her, the mistress, hence the wedding was repeatedly delayed.
Hearing Lin Miao'er speak like that, Su Shenghang's face darkened. She was always sharp-tongued and domineering, her high IQ often leaving Keke spinning in circles.
He said gravely, "We have something else to do. We're leaving first."
Lin Ke said tenderly, "Sister was just about to leave too. Let's go downstairs together."
Lin Miao'er followed behind the two, arriving at the entrance, where the wind of November was chilling. Su Shenghang took off his own coat and put it on Lin Ke.
Lin Ke purposely looked sideways at Lin Miao'er, laughing unrestrainedly. In the distance, a black Bentley slowly drove toward them and stopped in front of them.
Lin Ke settled into the car, and just as the vehicle was about to start, she called for a halt, slowly rolling down the window, smiling, "Sister, visit home when you have time. We all welcome you."
Visit?
Lin Miao'er curled the corners of her mouth upward, saying nothing.
That place, she had long since lost any attachment. Her father's distrust of her and that slap had severed all the affection between them.
She despised Lin Ke and her mother, showing her emotions openly on her face, but the scheming and hatred of Lin Ke and her mother were deeply hidden in their bones, deceiving those unaware.
Lin Miao'er descended the steps and was about to hail a taxi due to having consumed alcohol when suddenly a doorman rushed toward her, whispering, "Miss Lin, Mr. Gong Motin is waiting for you in the upstairs room, please go to him."
Gong Motin? He was willing to see her?
