Chapter 40: Azazel

El-Kharis stood still, lightning flickering in his palms as the figures rushed toward him, their masks obscuring their faces. He didn't hesitate. With a flick of his wrist, bolts of lightning shot forth, cutting through the air with a crackling hum. Two of the figures were struck before they could react, thrown back as arcs of electricity coursed through their bodies. The third figure, quick on his feet, dodged and lunged toward him, but El-Kharis was faster, summoning another bolt that crackled menacingly in his hand.

As he prepared to release it, something unexpected happened. The third figure suddenly tore off his mask, revealing a familiar face—Adrian.

El-Kharis halted, the lightning dissipating instantly in his hand. His brows furrowed in mild confusion as the two other masked figures slowly rose to their feet, pulling off their disguises. It was Leon and Rowland, both grinning like mischievous children.
