Chapter 65: Fight

Claire's eyes widened in surprise and annoyance as she yanked her arm free from Joshua's grasp. She glanced around the office, noting the curious stares from their colleagues, and felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.

"Joshua, this is neither the time nor the place," she said sharply, her voice low but firm.

Joshua, realizing the situation they were in, looked around and noticed the stares and whispers. He took a step back, his expression a mix of worry and frustration.

"Claire, please," he whispered, trying to keep his voice down. "I need to know you're okay."

Claire straightened her posture, her face resolute. "I'm fine, Joshua. And where I was last night is none of your business."
