Chapter 41: Lies and Deception

Jake contemplated on what the doctor had announced as he headed back to his father's room.

"Where is grandma?" Jake asked, noticing the room was vacant except for his father, who sat up holding his head in his hands.

"She left with the driver, I practically forced her to go have some rest, you know how stubborn she can be even at her age," Foster Lynn said, chuckling, causing him to roll over holding his chest.

"Are you feeling okay, dad?" Jake asked quickly, rushing by his side.

"Tell me the truth, son, what exactly is wrong with me?" Foster Lynn asked, leaning on the bed.

Jake didn't know how to bring it out. "You don't need to worry, first get well dad," Jake responded, patting his shoulder.

"No son, I need to look, from the look the doctor gave you earlier and the way you're acting now, something's definitely wrong," Foster insisted, holding his forehead.
