Author's POV:
Song Yangyao and Chen Xinyi strolled through the upscale Wuhan mall, their shoulders noticeably relaxed after escaping the suffocating tension at the Song villa. The drama with Hui Ling's arrival had become unbearable for both of them.
"That whore, thinking she can come into my home and lay claim over what is mine," Chen Xinyi spat, her eyes flashing with barely contained rage. She dug her perfectly manicured nails into the plush leather of her designer handbag.
Yangyao scoffed, the resentment towards her newfound half-brother bubbling just beneath the surface. "It's all your fault, Mom. Why did you even buy a baby?" Her voice dripped with accusation, laced with years of unspoken turmoil.
