Chapter 41: Forty-one

After school, I decided to follow Delilah to her dormitory. She was one of the daughters of the nobles who were going to attend the ball, and I hoped she might know something about the demon mage.

She had blue hair and green eyes, and she was not bad looking, but she was not my type at all. She was a snob, a bully, and a mean girl. She always looked down on everyone who was not as rich or as powerful as her. She was rude, arrogant, and selfish. She had no friends, only followers who obeyed her every whim.

I waited until she was alone in her room, and then I knocked on the door. She opened it and looked at me with a frown.

"What do you want?" she asked coldly.

"Hi, Delilah. I'm Aaliyah, from the same class as Lydia. Can I talk to you for a minute?" I said, putting on my most charming smile.

She eyed me suspiciously and then opened the door wider.

"Fine, come in. But make it quick. I have important things to do," she said.
