Chapter 20: Killing her with kindness

No one saw Maxixe move, soon he was by Canaan's side dagger poking into his side while whispering softly, "release her or I will slit your gullet open like a fish before you inhale your next breath."

It had taken him three years to return for his woman and child, he wasn't about to lose Kaoma so easily.

Canaan swore profusely but he obeyed his Prince and let go of his hands from around her throat.

Then he slowly backed away from Kaoma as his sanity returned and Canaan started to feel ashamed for what he had done.

"Lucky woman to be blessed by the heavens to have the master on your side despite the disrespectful things you did to our prince," cried Canaan before he took himself away. 

Kaoma could not move, if it wasn't for Maxixe supporting her she would have been face down in the dirt.

She could still feel Canaan's meaty palms around her neck and the spit trickling down the side of her mouth.
