Are you blaming me?
This question really stumped Qin Yi!
When he first arrived at the Qin family, Mrs. Qin-Li did not treat him well, but at least he was not starved or freezing. Old Qin was much kinder and took good care of him. Although his childhood was far from warm, at least he survived! They even sent him to school, providing him the chance to leap like a fish through the Dragon's Gate and pass the preliminary imperial examinations!
But could he say that he doesn't harbour any resentment in his heart?
He, Qin Yi, was not a saint, so there was naturally some bitterness. However, as his life got better, those enormous childhood hardships seemed to fade away. They were like ripples generated by a dragonfly skimming the surface of water, causing a small disturbance in his heart, but not stirring up his past anger.
It was as if he was watching someone else's life, he felt a release, gratitude, and even a trace of longing!
