I don't know why I was surprised that when you got to the base after Natasha tricked it out of the little idiot it was already cleaned out. No one was even here in fact only Shiv's shit was here (finally learned his name). It seemed like they were all already prepared to leave even before... well everyone except Shiv. This wasn't really shocking though as everyone needed a fall guy to take the blame someone nobody would miss that was okay to leave behind if things went sideways.
Sure this was a roadblock but it wasn't anything substantial to truly hinder the heroes. As clever as they were they were only street level thugs at best even if they had super powers. Given time and some minor effort from someone like Fury or Tony and they won't be able to stay hidden long.
Although given what they stole the target was pretty easy to narrow down but this was about more than just catching the bad guy. This needed to be a message to all those who try to pull this shit in the future. You don't fuck with the Avengers.
Thor: It seems that they aren't here
Tony: Just as Nat predicted
Steve: let's spread out and look for clues to where they might have moved to
This feels like such a waste of time it's not like some convenient...
Electric arcs began circulating around before ripping a metal door off the hinges. We turned to look at Thor but shook his head indicating it wasn't him. Nothing needed to be said as we got into stance prepared for a fight.
We didn't need to wait long to figure out who they were as it turned out to be Static Shock and Green Arrow. We immediately relaxed a bit before as we were expecting a fight unfortunately we ran into other heroes. Static shock was surprised that we were here and Green Arrow was glaring at us... no he was glaring at me.
I wasn't certain what I did to offend him but it was certain that he had a grudge against me. Usually when people glared at me like I pissed in their punch this is because they suffered at my hands either directly or indirectly. The only thing that comes to mind is my preaching about the Emperor of mankind although I don't see why it would. Rather than let it continue I decided to confront the issue head-on.
"Is there a particular reason you are glaring at me?"
Green Arrow: It's because I see right through you. You're nothing but a killer who pretends you have some greater mission. Worse still you are manipulating others into believing your bullshit. So yeah there is definitely a good reason for why I am glaring at you.
"Do you label every soldier and police officer a killer? As Far as I am aware the only times that I have killed were against various terrorist or terrorist groups that threatened the innocent. As for my beliefs just because I am honest about them doesn't mean I am converting people to this. I have yet to try teach others the proper prayers to the Emperor of mankind"
Green Arrow: You won't be able to convince me with your bullshit...
"I'm not trying to I just won't let you shit all over my life and allow people to only hear your side without refuting it. I can see that you already made your judgment about me without proof to back up your claims. Since it is pointless to continue this discussion I rather do something productive. Iron man have you found anything?"
Iron man: I was able to find traces of their potential new hideout while you were bickering with knock off Hawkeye over there
Static Shock: So where are we going?
Captain America: Sorry kid but we can't bring you two with us considering your teammates hostility towards one of ours making him a liability. We can't take the risk so for now this is strictly an Avengers matter making this a government operation please stay out of this.
Static Shock: Wh.. but they are my villains...
Iron man: Sorry kid but we already have an electric guy on the team and he is a god so we got it covered
