"Okay, I'll be waiting for you at the law firm tomorrow," affirmed the lawyer on the other end.

"Mm," Xiao Yichen replied before ending the call.

Upon entering the bedroom, Xiao Yichen intended to take off his clothes and shower. However, as he emerged from the closet, Lin Wan emerged from the bathroom, freshly showered.

"Chen, go take your shower. I'll dry my hair first," Lin Wan directed Xiao Yichen.

"Alright," Xiao Yichen agreed, though his mind was preoccupied.

He went into the bathroom for his shower. Twenty minutes later, he emerged to find Lin Wan already in bed. Xiao Yichen walked toward her.

Lin Wan wasn't asleep. She was engrossed with her phone. Upon sensing Xiao Yichen's approach, she instinctively made space for him.

Xiao Yichen joined Lin Wan, and their night continued.

Two hours later, Lin Wan feigned sleep, lying beside Xiao Yichen with closed eyes.
