"To escape, we need to enter that watchtower, and for that, we need to prepare a few things in advance."
In the prison cafeteria, Rocket sat among the group, explaining his escape plan to them.
"First, we need to get hold of the security armband worn by the guards. It's the key to controlling access and security robots."
"I'll handle that," Gamora took on the task.
"Alright, and that guy over there who's getting food, I need his prosthetic leg," Rocket continued.
"His prosthetic leg?" Star-Lord asked in confusion.
"Yes, just his leg, we don't need the rest. Look at him, all pathetic," Rocket said.
"Alright..." Though Star-Lord didn't understand why Rocket needed the prosthetic leg, he agreed to help for the sake of their successful prison break.
"Finally, there's a black board on the wall behind us, with yellow lights flashing. See it?"
Star-Lord turned to look and immediately spotted the spot Rocket mentioned. "I see it."
"Inside there's a Quarni battery, a purple box, and green wires. We need it to enter the watchtower," Rocket continued explaining.
"But how do we get our hands on it?" Gamora turned back to look at Rocket. The location of the Quarni battery was at a height of twenty feet and was the most heavily guarded area in the entire prison. If they approached, they would undoubtedly attract the attention of the guards. There seemed to be no good way to get it without being noticed.
Rocket looked at Gamora mysteriously. "This will rely on you to work your charm. I can tell the guards are interested in you. You should be able to figure something out."
"Are you kidding me!" Gamora was very angry at the idea of selling herself to complete the mission.
"Hey, don't be mad. I've overheard them discussing you, and they all think you're hot. Besides, I need the Quarni battery for my plan, and you guys need to figure out how to get it. If you want to get out of here, you'll have to get the things I need," Rocket said unscrupulously.
"And once the battery is removed, the prison will go into emergency mode, so we need to act quickly and leave the battery for last."
"Uh, can I interrupt for a moment?" At this point, Baymax, who had been silent on the sidelines, spoke up.
"What's up, big guy? Can't you see we're discussing something important?" Rocket clearly didn't have much patience for Baymax, who seemed slow and unable to offer any useful ideas.
Originally, Baymax didn't intend to speak up because Rocket's jailbreak plan was not much different from the plan it had carefully calculated. With Rocket's extensive experience of breaking out twenty-two times, the chances of success were quite high.
However, it chose to interrupt this discussion because - "I just wanted to say that Groot, after hearing that you need the Quarni battery, walked over and opened the black board behind us on his own. He has already pulled out the battery along with the wires. If we don't stop him now, we might..."
Before Baymax could finish speaking, the lights in the entire cafeteria dimmed, and at the same time, the emergency alarm in the prison started blaring.
"Why didn't you say so earlier!" Rocket said, looking at the battery handed over by Groot in dismay.
"Well, maybe we can get the battery first and figure out another plan later."
There was no time for them to plan in detail now; the guards would soon take action, and they had to complete their tasks before the guards noticed their plan and rendezvous at the watchtower.
"I'll get the security armband from the guard!" Gamora said.
"I'll get the guy's prosthetic leg!" Star-Lord chimed in.
Star-Lord and Gamora immediately sprang into action, heading towards their respective targets.
Seeing this, Rocket felt not excitement but a sense of despair. This team was really hard to manage!
He had only meant to play a prank on Star-Lord, but he hadn't expected Star-Lord to take it seriously. If it weren't for the urgency of the situation, Rocket might have mocked him a bit, but he couldn't find it in himself to do so now.
Not to mention the trouble-causing tree-man Groot and the seemingly burdensome inflatable robot, Baymax, in the team. If it weren't for the 4 billion reward, Rocket would have given up on the prison break plan long ago.
However, there was no choice now; they had to face the difficulties ahead, and if there were no difficulties, they would create some. In any case, they had to grit their teeth and go on!
"Attention, inmates below! Put down your weapons and return to your cells, or we will open fire!" The guards on the watchtower had a clear view of the situation below and controlled the guard robots to surround Groot.
"I am Groot!" Of course, Groot wouldn't just give up. Faced with the guard robots, who were now loaded and ready to fire, he roared and launched an attack.
"Open fire!" Seeing this, the guards immediately gave the order to fire, and the ammunition poured onto Groot.
However, Groot was a tree-man with incredibly strong vitality, and he didn't care about the attacks from these robots at all, continuing to swing his long arms to fight back.
Baymax, on the other hand, used his own body to protect Rocket from stray bullets.
Seeing more and more guard robots gathering around, the first guards who arrived had already taken out more powerful weapons with firepower rated at 800 to concentrate on attacking Groot. It was clear that Groot alone couldn't hold on for much longer, and before Gamora and Star-Lord could return, he would likely be defeated on the spot.
But just as Rocket was about to lend a hand to attract the guards' fire, Drax directly subdued the guards and took their weapons, handing them to Rocket beside Baymax.
Drax, who had been observing their actions, stepped forward to help. Only by escaping from here could he continue his revenge against Ronan.
Drax truly lived up to his name as the Destroyer. Barehanded, he quickly dealt with the guards who had arrived first.
With the weapons in hand, Rocket was like a fish in water, using Baymax's graphene skin to protect himself and using his precise shooting skills to eliminate all the guard robots surrounding Groot.
While Rocket was dealing with the trouble in front of him, Gamora and Star-Lord also completed their own tasks and returned with what Rocket had asked for.
"Hurry, move towards the watchtower. Steady, and we can succeed!" Seeing the two of them come back, Rocket directed everyone to gather at the watchtower. The key to success or failure lay in this move...
