"Mark, why have you come to me at this time? If there's anything you need help with, feel free to speak up. I will exert all the power of Asgard to solve your troubles."
In the central hall of the palace, the Throne that was previously destroyed by Malekith has now been restored. King Odin sits upon it, looking at Mark who has come to meet him.
When Mark requested to have a conversation with Odin, who was responsible for collaborating with him, there was only one thought in Odin's mind.
Given the tense situation at present, with a great war about to break out, if Mark is not focusing on his research on Aether and instead has come to him, the only possibility is that he has encountered a difficult problem and needs his assistance.
However, although Mark did indeed come to seek help from Odin, it is different from what Odin had speculated. Mark has already deciphered the method of using Aether.
Odin could never have imagined that just a few days after proposing the deal, Mark had already completed the task assigned to him.
Indeed, when Mark explained that he had unraveled the mystery of Aether, Odin's face displayed a completely incredulous and astonished expression. His remaining single eye stared at Mark intently, as if trying to see through him.
Under Odin's scorching gaze, a bold thought crossed Mark's mind. Should he give Odin an artificial White-eyed like Nick Fury? They both only have one eye, so it would suit them well...
Upon careful consideration, it seems that Thor, in the Ragnarok, will also be one eye blinded by his sister. Could it be that this acquired one-eyed trait is inherited? It seems necessary to prepare one for Thor in advance.
After being shocked for quite some time, Odin finally regained his composure and then shook his head helplessly.
After all, he was a seasoned warrior who had ruled an entire kingdom for thousands of years and seen everything the world had to offer. Yet today, he was rendered speechless for quite some time due to the good news brought by Mark, which was truly embarrassing for him.
"Although I have never doubted your abilities, I cannot fathom how you managed to accomplish such a challenging task in such a short time. So, are you here today to report this good news to me?"
In response to Odin's inquiry, Mark nodded at first and then shook his head. "I did indeed complete the task, but it can't really be considered good news because if we only reach this point, it won't have any positive effect on our victory in this war."
"The Aether can only unleash their immense power in the hands of the Dark Elves. So even if I deciphered the method of using them, Asgard wouldn't be able to harness the power of Aether to defeat the enemy. Inadvertently, it might even backfire and become an aid to the Dark Elves..."
Mark detailed his discoveries in his research to Odin, explaining the ability of Aether to transform matter into dark matter. While this may be a superpower for the Dark Elves, in Asgard, it is merely a convenient free dark matter generator. It seems impossible to gain an advantage in the war by relying on it.
But Mark's task is to turn the impossible into possible. After reporting on his work, Mark directly presented the problem he needed Odin's help to solve.
"I have completed the combination of dark runes that reverse the function of Aether. By simply changing the arrangement of the runes, they can achieve a functional reversal, transforming all dark matter generated by darkness into ordinary matter.
In this way, Aether will become the bane of the Dark Elves, whose bodies are entirely composed of dark matter.
However, there is still one problem to be solved, which is the technical means to modify the surface runes of the core particles within the Aether.
I cannot, in a short time and in an unfamiliar place, create a high-precision processing device capable of achieving quark-level accuracy using tools whose methods of use I am unaware of.
Therefore, I need to seek your assistance to see if there is a way to solve the difficulty I am currently facing. Otherwise, I will have to return to my Earth laboratory and develop this technology, but it will be too time-consuming relative to the current situation."
"To achieve quark-level precision processing, even we in Asgard cannot accomplish that."
Upon hearing Mark's request, Odin responded bluntly.
Upon hearing Odin's reply, Mark felt somewhat disappointed. Although he had completed the task and the deal had been established, even if he couldn't modify the functionality of ether particles, it didn't necessarily mean failure in confronting the Dark Elves.
However, when one has found a path to success but cannot traverse it, it indeed brings a sense of unwillingness.
However, Odin continued, "But you don't need to be disappointed. Although Asgard cannot achieve it, it doesn't mean I cannot solve your problem.
Asgard and the dwarven of Nidavellir have established a long-standing alliance and diplomatic relations. Asgard provides protection to Nidavellir, while the dwarves help forge powerful weapons for Asgard.
If there's anyone among the Nine Realms who can fulfill your request, it would be the Dwarf King Eitri.
