Chapter 21: The Battle I
"Hold the fort! Attackers, do not allow any beast get past you" Mr Zissis commanded "Supporters, fire at full force. Do not hold back. Defenders, switch with the attackers after the next three minutes to enable the students transport the injured to the healers"
"Yes sir!"
Spells began to fly across the battlefield as the lifeless bodies of both beasts and humans fell to the floor. As the battle was going on, the students were moving around, carrying the injured to the rear of the battlefield for healing.
*Cry*
"Shit! What was that?"
"Please not a 4-star beast. I'm not ready to die yet"
"I think the cry came from the other side of the forest"
"Isn't that the entrance to the academy?"
*Cry*
*Roar*
The cry resounded again in everyone's ears before being followed by the roars of different beasts from the opposite side of the forest.
"Commander, I just received a report that beasts are arriving from the other side of the foresee" A guard informed Mr Zissis "In addition, they are being led by a hippogriff"
"Shit! What is a hippogriff doing here of all places? Quickly, split the army into two groups Mr Zissis began to walk towards the battlefield "Raise the alert level to Yellow. I'll lead this battle myself
"Yes sir"

The information sounded twice in everyone's ears, instantly draining the color from every Magi's face on the battlefield.
"I knew I was going to die"
"Pull yourself together, man"
"I can't hold them anymore. It's like they just received a surge of energy," A magus shouted
"The colors in their eyes are fading" Mr Zissis gasped "Everyone, retreat immediately!"
Unfortunately, the warning arrived too late. Screams began to echo on the battlefield as bodies of magi began to fall to the floor, one by one.
"Orpheus, get your ass up and help" Perseus ran up to Orpheus, who was sitting in the lotus position
"What is he doing?" Emilios asked
"He's meditating. I can't believe he grasped the basics in just a short time," Anthea answered
Orpheus opened his eyes and stood up from the floor while smiling widely
"Why the hell is he smiling like a fool" Alex frowned
~Which can I reveal? ~
[I suggest fire]
"Cool, let's go" Orpheus said as the four appeared behind him before they all ran towards the battlefield.
"Where the hell did they come from?" Emilios jumped in panic
"It seems like he attracted more special people," Kers thought aloud
"What do you mean?" Emilios asked
"Never mind, let's just follow him" Kers ran after Orpheus, towards the battlefield
"Wait! We are not meant to fight with the other Magi. We were only told to assist… Shit!" Alex cursed before following Kers along with the remaining students behind him.

"Urrggh! I can't hold this grizzly for much longer," A Magus shouted on the battlefield while putting up earthwalls as fast as they were put down by the bear he was fighting.
*Roar*
A fire arrow zipped past the Magi on the battlefield and hit the bear, making it fall on its back, causing confusion to run through everyone's face on the battlefield.
"Who did that?"
"I don't know. The color of the fire is even dark red. It's a rare flame these days"
"Hey Orpheus, I thought I told y'all to stay back" Mr Zissis shouted from the front line after seeing who the arrow came from.
"Don't worry about me sir" Orpheus ran through the academy camp into the main battlefield "I can handle myself pretty well"
"Hey Orpheus!!" Mr Zissis yelled but to no avail "And where the hell are you guys going?"
The others shrugged their shoulders and ran after Orpheus, leaving Mr Zissis and the other Magi with fallen jaws.
"Those damn sons of b***es" Mr Zissis cursed, "Go after them. Do not let any of them die"
"Yes sir"
Meanwhile,
Orpheus runs into the battlefield with his blades in his hands. He immediately teleported behing a thrall and sliced its neck, cleanly removing the head.
"He he he. This feels good, ya know"
"Hey dummy, look behind you" Aster shouted before shooting a lightning arrow behind Orpheus, parrying a bear's claw
"Shit!" Orpheus panicked and ran forward without looking back
"Don't run so deep into the front line!!" Tana yelled but it was too late
Orpheus looked around and found himself surrounded by beasts with dilated pupils and drooling mouths
[You just got yourself in deep shit boy]
~Can I go berserk? ~

Orpheus sat down in the lotus position closed his eyes, placing his weapons beside him but it seemed that the beasts could not hold back any longer and pounced on him, causing screams on the battlefield.
"Orpheus!" "Orpheus!!"
"Orpheus?!" "Hey!!!"
"ORPHEUS!!!"
"Dummy!! The f***"
The incident left everyone's mind in jumbles, reducing the morale of the warriors by a large margin, causing more bodies to fall to the floor
"They're closing in!"
"Aarrgh! Help me!"
"Don't falter! Keep on fighting!" Mr Zissis shouted
"We can't hold them no more" A Magus yelled "They're attacking us from behind this time
*Boom*
A pillar of fire rose from Orpheus' supposed death spot, lighting up the sky and burning everything within a fifty-meter radius. At the center of the pillar stood a shirtless blonde-haired boy (with a little tinge of red) and dark red eyes with grown canines.
"I am not destined to died yet you dumb f***ers" Orpheus yelled as he ran into the battlefield with fire covering his blades
His brave act once again, raised the warrior's morale by a large margin as they began to fight with renewed strength and vigor.
"Thank goodness" Sara sighed as she wiped a tear from her eyes
"Sara! Get to work!" Hypnos screamed at her, waking her up from her daze
"Oh sorry"

Orpheus sliced beast after beast as he ran around the battlefield while screaming about his destiny.
<Hey Tana. Did he drink something? He's behaving like you all of a sudden.> Aella said
<I don't know… Damn you> Tana cursed
"Take this. Dual casting, Dark Blast!" Orpheus chanted, shooting out a black flame from his palm at a gnome.
The flame went through the gnome and disappeared into thin air. Looking below and feeling no pain, the gnome looked at Orpheus and sneered.
"Ya think?" Orpheus smirked at it.
Immediately Orpheus finished speaking, the gnome began to hold its head while writhing in pain
"It's that powerful?" Orpheus' jaw hung open "Man, this is as cool as shit"
[Of course. The dark blast attacks the mind and can't be blocked by anything except for the light element]
"Cool. Let me…"
*Screech*
A sharp cry sounded on the battlefield, stunning both humans and beasts
"Is… is… is that…"
"a… a… harp… py"
"Huh? A happy?"
"No! it's a harpy you idiot"
"No, not just one. There are one, two, three, what?! Five of them?!"
"I don't want to die. It's too early for me to die"
While everyone was lamenting, a fire ball flew above their heads and hit the largest harpy at the front
*Cry*
"C'mon Orpheus, you just angered it" Tana said in frustration
[Don't fight them. They're all 3-star beasts. Well, apart from the last one]
~I'll take that one then. You four can handle the rest ~
"No you idiot. Did you not hear 3-star? It takes two low-level advanced magi to defeat one" Aella cautioned him
[Well, it's not that impossible. The last one's intermediate. I think he's got a chance at it]
"Costas!" Tana yelled again in frustration "if he dies, we die. Are you trying to get us all killed?"
"Hold on" Orpheus slashed an orc "What do you mean 'If I die, y'all die'?"
[Oh, c'mon]
"You slipped up Tana" Aster face palmed
"Oops" Tana covered her mouth with her palms
"I asked a question" Orpheus stood still "What did that statement mean?"
"Orpheus, we'll talk later. Just face the battle for now"
"Okay, but if I can't fight it, who will?" Orpheus asked confusedly
"Ask that Mr Zissi, or whatever" Aster yelled back at him
"He's busy with the hippogriff" Orpheus said "My only option is to go all out"
"I have an idea" Aella said "Draw the weakest harpy away from here."
[I see where she's going. Draw the harpy with blue feathers to the edge of the forest]
~Which one? ~
[The one behind, you idiot]
~Okay, but I how do I get its attention ~
[It's simple. Wind]
~Wind? But I'm supposed to reveal only two elements ~
[It's just a light wind disturbance. Any one won't notice it]
~Okay, but how do I do it then? ~
[Just try to command the air or move air. You know, the connection stuff]
~Yeah, let me try it ~
Orpheus closed his eyes and opened it while focusing on the blue-feathered harpy. All of a sudden, the harpy began to fly irregularly, making it to search around for the perpetrator. Setting its eyes on Orpheus, it let out a loud shriek.
*Cry*
"Shit!" Orpheus cursed and ran into the forest with the harpy swooping in after him.
