Chapter 52: Stolen From Kitchen

Mary flinched. If it had been before, she would have mocked him. A fictional character tried to kill her! A human.

But two days ago, she had cut her finger and realized that the pain in the novel is as real as the food she eats.

"Alright! No violence! If you will not even be able to smile or hold my hands, who would believe we are in love?" She tried to sound sweet but failed miserably as he looked away and shrugged.

"So that's it! Let them see you as my responsibility. I made a mistake and I am trying to correct it by keeping you here." This bullhead! Did her words even register in his mind?

She took a deep breath as she really wanted her head on her body. 

"I did not mind being mistaken. But I am worried Alec will feel burdened. Rest is your wish. After all, you are the boss here." She stood up to leave.
