The maids were collected in front of Mary's room door but did not dare walk in brazenly.
They have already seen more than once how much the Lord adored the lady and supported her, not to mention the child who looked just like their master.
"I think it will be better to inform your highness first." said Martha, the elder maid but Stella just scoffed.
"Why are you so worried? We are not accusing her of stealing. What if the ring had fallen accidentally? We are just searching for it." Since she was at a higher level of responsibility, Martha had no choice but to accept.
"But the lady did not come to her room," said another maid. If the ring was found in this room, it would only mean that Mary had stolen it.
Stella shrugged, a small smirk forming on her face.
"We will only know the truth when we search her room." She smiled as she opened the door without knocking.
