It's been 2 months since that night I visited Aliyah and it has begun to snow very little for the last few days.
But the unlucky me had fallen ill after going on quest after quest with only a day or two break in between the bigger quests.
It was raining like hell on those days but it didn't stop me from going. I also learned basic Wind magic a little while back. It was about 9 weeks ago, actually.
It was also super easy to get to rank "E" by the way. Now I can even take rank D quests but I don't think I'm ready for them yet.
But back to the present situation: I have a cold. And it sucks ass! But Aliyah has been taking care of me after her shift for the last two days.
I feel bad for her. She has to take care of me after her shift everyday. Although she always has a sort of creepy smile on her face when doing so...
And I think that this sickness will only last for another few days at most. I already feel way better than a few days ago!
Maybe when I get better I can go outside and play in the fresh snow? I might be an adult on the inside but I am a child in all other aspects. I also love playing in the snow!
My immune system is going to kick that shitty cold out of my body for sure. I'm going to get some rest now. Goodnight~.
-[3 Days Later]-
I woke up this morning feeling fine. I check my status and the sickness was gone from my effects stat. I was happy that I got better of course.
I opened the curtains of the window and looked out into the streets. There was snow everywhere! The roads had been completely covered in fresh, powdery, white snow. I was eager to play in it.
I got ready for the day and grabbed my winter gear out of my inventory. I had gloves, a winter beanie type hat to cover my ears from the cold wind and snow, and my personal favorite: a scarf that Aliyah had made for me as a present for ranking up.
On that day I learned that Aliyah was a rank C adventurer before becoming a knight.
Back to the present to be held. I walked out of the room while putting on my robe, gloves, and hat.
I opened the door to the outside world and was amazed by the perfect layer of fresh snow. It had been completely barren of snow in Rybim yesterday morning. So that means this had fallen last night!
I walked out into the snow and noticed that it came up to about my upper calf. Fucking tiny legs...
It was cold with the breeze but I was warm from my gear. I wanted somewhere where nobody would intrude on my fun.
Then it hit me, outside the walls was perfect! Sure the danger of random monsters was existing but I didn't care.
I wanted to spend all day out in the snow so I immediately started to go towards the gate. I was slow from the snow being high enough already.
It was early morning so not a lot of people were awake and outside. There were other kids out playing in the snow already, though.
I finally made it to the gate after about 10 minutes of walking. Normally it would take about 5 minutes without the snow.
And the snow was still falling! More snow is annoying for my height but it is also more fun!
I got to the exit counter at the gate and on duty was a man who looked to be in his thirties or fourties at most. "Oh. Hello little one. Heading out by yourself? May I see your identification card, then?" said the man.
I handed him my identification card and he checked it. I took off my hat after he looked at the picture and then looked at me.
After a few seconds I put back on my hat and got my card from him. I then walked out of Rybim, and into the untouched snow.
-[Outside of Rybim]-
I walked along the wall for a few minutes to try and ensure that I wouldn't be bothered. There was something that I wanted to try as well.
I stopped in front of a small hill that had a lot of snow on top of it. I then gathered mana in my hand and tried to use the sub category of Water magic; Ice Magic. Ice magic is able to make and use ice and snow.
It had worked. I used the previously fallen snow to make a not very detailed castle of snow. It didn't take much mana either. I was happy though. A smile had begun to creep across my face and I giggled as I stared at my creation of snow.
It was a few inches taller than me and wasn't hollowed out so it could support it's weight without support beams of ice or snow. I wanted to add details to it. But instead of hand doing it, I could practice my Ice magic by doing those details with it!
I then spent the next few hours adding more and more details to the castle and making a 1:100 scale replica of Rybim with snow. I heard snow crunch behind me from a behind. I had taken a break from using magic a few minutes before this so I don't think whoever it is knows I can use magic.
I had the element of surprise on my side. But I want to check who it may be before attacking. It may be reckless of me but screw it! I turned around to see a young boy around the age of 11 or so from how he looked.
He kept walking towards me. I noticed he had a sword on him but it wasn't drawn so I assumed he was an adventurer that was coming out to do a quest or he had just finished one and saw me on the way back.
He got up to me after a few seconds and he stopped about 4 feet in front of me. He stared at me who was sitting on the ground. He then said, "Hello. You shouldn't be out here, it's dangerous. You could be attacked by stray monsters..."
I then stood up and noticed that I came up to a little over his waist. He looked down at me and I looked up at him. I then said, "I'm good out here. I just came to a semi secluded area to do that." I then pointed at my many structures of snow.
He looked at them and said, "Wow...these are really well made for someone your age!" 'I'm not much younger than you!' I screamed in my mind. He then walked closer to the structures and examined each one closely.
After he was finished examining them he turned around and saw something. He then yelled, "Hey guys! How'd it go?" A group of three other people around the same age had exited the forest and has started to make their way over towards us.
After a few minutes the group had made its way to us. "Hey, Jake. We got done with that thing we had to do." The single girl of the group had walked over to the boy next to me. She wore a smile on her face and had blue hair. Wait, blue hair...she reminds me of Mary. It's best not to think of that jerk.
The boy next to me is apparently named Jake though. Jake said to the girl, "That's good, Mable." The other two boys came up to Jake and the one with black hair said, "What's with the little kid?" Jake then replied, "I don't exactly know. I saw them when I was exiting the forest so I decided to check it out. Turns out they're just here to play in the snow." Jake then moved out from in front of my creations and the other kids saw them.
"Wow!" said Mable. The other boy who had blonde hair turned to me and said, "You made these?" I nodded. Mable then said, "Jin. Karl. These look awesome, right?" The boy with blonde hair is Karl, and the boy with black hair is Jin.
Jin and Karl nodded in response to Mable's question. I was sort of proud since they liked my work. I now was smiling slightly from the praise unto my work. "But hold on. Why not play in the snow inside the walls of Rybim?" said Jin. I looked at him and said, "I wanted to be alone while doing this..."
He looked slightly as if he understood why. Jake then said, "It's getting late out so we should hurry back to the guild and get our reward." I then turned to Jake and said, "You're all adventurers?" Jake then replied, "Yes. We even recently became rank "E"! I'm proud of us."
Jin, Mable, and Karl all had worn smiles now. I then said, "So we're the same rank, then?" They all looked at me with questioning expressions.
Jin then said, "Wait...you're rank "E"? And aren't you like 5 years old or something? That's way too young for being that rank!" I then brought out my identification card and showed it to them. Jake noticed the photo and said, "You're...a beastman?"
'Shit! I forgot about the photo of me on it!' I yelled in my mind. I then hurriedly out the card away and said, "...yes. Is there a problem about it...?" Jake then looked at me and said, "Wow. You're the first one I've talked to! Nice to meet you...uh, what's your name? I didn't check it on the card."
I'm happy he isn't a racist. "My name is Pearl and you are correct about out my age. I turned five a while ago now." I said. They laughed a bit and Mable then said, "Nice to meet you! My mom said to never get involved with 'your kind' but I say otherwise! You're still a person, after all." Okay, Mable is officially cool in my book.
I smiled after hearing that. The sun started to hide beyond the horizon and it was darkening outside. The group of kids had left a few minutes ago now and before they left they all yelled, "Let's meet up again sometime! Maybe even go do some quests together!" I like them already hehe~.
I decided it was time to go home so I set up a dome of ice around my creations of snow so it would be semi protected from more snow and walked towards the gate to go back to Aliyah's room.
-[Inside of the Knight's building]-
I was covered in snow so I wanted to go and get to the room before removing anything. I walked to the door of our room, opened it, then I entered inside. I took my boots off and put them on a tray meant for wet shoes. I then took off my outerwear and shook them out of the window to get any extra snow off.
I then stored them in my inventory and shut the window. My clothes were also pretty damn wet from playing outside in the snow so I tried to dry them with a combination of wind and fire magic. It worked decently so I set the clothes on a little dresser that I bought to keep some clothes in.
I then got into my bed after putting on my sleep wear and went to sleep. I was tired from all the playing I did so I fell asleep instantly. Goodnight~.
This chapter is just for goofy fun times of snow :)
