Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Idiots
It's been about another 1 and a half months since I met Jake and the others. And like they proposed, we did go on quests together. A lot of quests.
We took a D rank subjugation quest of which had goblins that were gaining in numbers around the area. It was said to be around 40 goblins last checked. But with the five of us; we killed every last one of them.
I never did explain what they main in. So let me do that now; Jake is in the Warrior class which is mainly close quarters combat with various melee weapons.
Mable is a healer and boy, she did her job very well! I got stabbed pretty deeply in the thigh by a goblin that had snuck up behind me and I couldn't dodge the attack in time.
Mable then came over to me and healed the wound. It wasn't perfect, but it allowed me to fight once again.
Jin is a mage and he is not the best at handling multiple units, but he gets the job done in time. And finally, Karl.
Karl is sort of like a ninja in the way he fights. He tends to typically stay long distance when the enemy is full of life. But when the enemy loses enough energy, Karl goes in for the kill with his katana.
We had fun doing all of those quests together. I even got enough money and bought a better sword. Of course it isn't a broadsword or anything like that.
But instead, it is a Wakizashi katana. It was about 50 cm long and it was fairly easy to use.
I kept my old short sword in my inventory in case my new sword broke or just to sell later on if I need to. I also looked at magic items such as wands and staffs.
I think I may be way too short to use a staff right now, so I'll stick to using either my hands or wand.
Wands can provide a multiplier of about 1.2 or less onto your magic attacks. Staffs typically provide a x1.3 or higher on magic attacks and the sorts.
Oh! Aliyah's birthday was apparently December 3rd so I got her a present. It was a brand new dagger.
It had a blade of about 4 inches or so and the blade itself was purple. It was a little expensive but I wanted to get it to thank her for everything she's done so far for me.
She took it graciously and even cried a little bit upon receiving it. It made me extremely happy that she liked it.
And now, Aliyah carries the knife I bought her around with her everywhere. Yet again, I was super happy about that.
A few days ago I heard news that the country next door to the one I am in is trying to get involved with beastmen more. That is great news for all of beastmen.
It provides better security in that country and it'll now be open for more trading because of the newly made friends of beastmen.
That country is named Apothem. Reminds me of geometry homework back when I was in highschool.
But anyways, I skipped over the most important thing of all; Jake, Karl, Mable, Jin, and I all ranked up.
Which means, we are now "D" rank! I also leveled up a lot by killing tons of monsters, mainly being goblins. I will show my stats now!

I am proud of my achievements thus far into my new life. Sure my stats haven't risen much, but they will with due time.
But I wonder about that level limit. Could it be? 'Hey Gem? What is the level limit for? Is it possible to get it to a higher limit?' I said in my mind.
[Yes. The process of Evolution is available once Pearl has reached the maximum level for you currently.] I knew it! Evolution sounds badass!
I hope I'll get a lot taller after evolving...but I shouldn't get my hopes too high. But maybe Gem can tell me how tall I'll be when I'm fully grown?
Let me check. 'Hey Gem? How tall will I be when fully grown?' I said curiously in my mind. [Prediction of height... Pearl will most likely be around 140 cm when fully grown.]
"140 cm?! What!" I yelled. The people around me looked at me to see what happened. I got embarrassed so I quickly picked up my pace and ran father down the streets of Rybim.
I said in my mind, 'Dammit. I'm going to be super short!' It made me a little sad to hear that but it also allowed me to see the world from the eyes of a short person. It'll hopefully be fun. Right?
I wonder what the average height is in this world? I thought, "How tall is the average height, Gem?" [Answer: the average height of adults in this world is about 173.6cm.]
Well, I'll be very short compared to everyone else. Dammit.
I lifted my head up to see I had been walking way too far off the streets and now I was lost. "Ah, shit. I think I may be lost." I said as I face palmed at my ignorance of my surroundings.
I was in some sort of alleyway system behind tons of buildings, so I concluded this: If I walk around the area for a while, I'll be able to find my way back to the main street. I turned towards the path branching to the right and begun to walk down it.
-[5 minutes later]-
I think I'm being followed. I heard voices and footsteps from behind me a while ago and they haven't dispersed yet. I'm getting a little scared about it. 'Gem, can you see if the people who're following me have any malicious intent?' I said in my mind.
[Running scan... Malicious intent was found on the two people that are currently following from behind. One of the two people has more luscious intent rather than malicious. Both appear to be male.] Great. They want to do "things" to me. Fucking hell.
I started to walk faster. And the footsteps grew louder and faster. I then went into a full on sprint. The men followed in pursuit. I ran through the back alleys and I got cornered by a dead end. "Well looky here. The little kid helped us capture themself. Haha!" said a man with blonde hair. The man next to him, who had red hair, said, "Yeah. Now let's have some fun with 'em before we sell the little shit."
My knees were shaking uncontrollably. I was afraid of what things they're going to do to me. I then thought of a plan. One that would either kill them, or allow me to escape. Actually, you know what? Fuck them.
I'll do both plan variations. The men had drawn their weapons and made demands for me to move over to them slowly. The red haired one looked weaker than me in magic, but the blonde one had decently high strength. I checked them both with the Inspect skill.
I said, "You two messed up." They both slowly looked at each other and then they both bursted out laughing.
I then took the opportunity to use Earth Magic to try and slice through one of their legs each. The blonde haired man noticed it and dodged whilst the red haired man got his leg cut clean off.
Mr.Red hair started to scream and writhe on the ground while bleeding out. He'd die in about another minute from blood loss, I think.
"You bitch! How dare you!!" The blonde haired man yelled and charged at me. I used Wind magic to propel myself into the air and I unleashed a spell that I had been readying in my left hand.
I launched a stone bullet at him and it hit the man straight on the top of his head, and came out his ass. It was both horrifying and hilarious. They both died and became my XP.
I grabbed the most valuable things they had on them such as jewelry, armour, and weapons and stored them in my inventory. I then begun to say, "Tell Satan I say hello." I left their bodies right where they were. [Pearl has acquired level 16.] That's pretty cool that I leveled up! [XP: 10/185]
After the fight, I found the main street once again and I decided to head to the market to try and sell what I got off of the dickheads I killed.

"Oh? These look like they're in decent condition! For all of this, I'll give you 2 gold!" said the weapon stall owner. "Deal." I replied. I now had made money from the douchebags I killed. Easy money if I say so myself!
-[Aliyah's Room]-
I was extremely tired and I also kept the jewelry because they were pretty. I decided to go and sleep a little early because of today's fight draining my energy. I got out of my clothes and into my sleep wear. I crawled into my bed and laid down. Goodnight~.
