If you only do what you can do,
You'll never be more than you are now.

While also making the player's ears stronger due to continuous exposure to mana making it even the loudest sounds won't hurt the player's ears]
[Effects: + Increase in Hearing
[Mana Cost: 10/sec in active state]
'Wow. Sweet. I'll be able to hear the heartbeat, muscle movement, and even blood circulation…. That's wicked.' I was impressed with the skill. But it would only happen as he increased its level.
'Hmm… The MP cost of this skill is higher than the tastes. So each sense has a different MP cost when created. Interesting….
" Using too much mana can overwhelm or even injure or blow up your delicate organs. But I don't need to worry about that now; I can just regenerate them. Nothing stopping me from even regenerating my heart, lungs, and even brain.
But I am curious about memories but from a technical point of view, my soul had my memories. After all, my mind was crushed when I hit the planet, and soul transfer was not my mind.
So is it wrong for me to say that my soul holds the memories rather than my mind?
Of course, I am curious does not mean I want to try out but I am sure I will know with time.
I nodded and got ready for the next sense. 'Alright. Time for the next one. Sense of smell.'
'The human nose contains about 10 million smell receptors. These smell receptors are sensitive to odor molecules that travel through the air. There are hundreds of different receptors. Each for identifying different odors. So I have to use mana to increase the efficiency of these receptors.'
I took out a piece of chocolate candy from the inventory. I stored many things in my inventory before going outside.
I set the small candy a couple of meters from me. My goal was to be able to smell it from a small distance as a start. Then increase it.
I concentrated and started focusing on my mana. Similar to the methods before I started with a small amount and slowly and carefully brought my energy to my nose. I coated the back of my nasal cavity and used the mana to enhance his smell.
After a few tries I succeeded. I was able to get a whiff of the chocolate. I proceeded. Slowly I started to increase the distance. I carefully increased the amount and let it flow through my nose in a controlled manner.
The results spoke for themselves.
[A new skill is created with a specific action.]
[By successfully controlling and infusing mana inside your nostrils and improving your sense of smell, the skill 'Enhanced Smell' has been created.]
[Enhanced Smell - Passive/Active(LV. 1): A skill obtained through infusing mana through the receptors of your nose. At a much higher level, this skill can smell metals and even pick up 'odorless' poisons. At Max level, it enables you to discern people's emotions, thoughts, and weaknesses, and even predict the future through scent alone.]
[Effects: + increase in Smell.
[Mana Cost: 8/sec in active state]
After successfully completing the enhancement of the third sense, I looked at the time screen.
The penalty quest was almost over.
Penalty Quest: Survive
Goal: Survive for the required time.
Required time: 4 Hours
Remaining time: 0 Hours 4 Min 43 Sec
It was about time he'd return.
'Shop.'
Current Gold: 3,225,954
On top of the various moneybags from the humanoid monsters, I had earned a whopping 1,500,000 gold from Ygritte. I had plenty of funds now. With that in mind, I closed the window and took out the Knight Killer dagger that I bought today.
Knight Killer
Rarity: B
Type: Dagger
Attack Power +75
'Knight Killing': +25% damage against heavily armored opponents
It's a sturdy and sharp dagger designed to cut a knight's armor. Because of its serrated blades, it will not slip easily against armor.
It was a weapon meant to be used for killing heavily armored targets. The cost was 2,800,000 gold. I got a greater amount of gold just by selling one-third of the loot I got from the labyrinth.
That's the reason even after buying the dagger my funds don't look depleted.
But even I spent a big amount of gold for the highest grade mana recovery positions. I would have been mad if I didn't get the five skills I got today.
As its description noted, it was a scary looking dagger with a serrated blade.
slash! slash slash!
I swung the blade around. It felt natural in my hand as if it was a part of my body.
Could this be counted as a D or even C rank Noble Phantasm or for the fact of the matter any of my weapons?
After all, the Sword of Stealth that I got is somewhat of a cheap copy of Excalibur without its bullshit power of the Sword of Promised Victory which can even affect causality. Even then the sword itself is not the greatest thing about the sword, it's scabbard, The Everdistant Utopia Avalon.
While Sword of Stealth has all the skills Excalibur and it's on a much higher rank it still is a discount Excalibur.
Wait, am I affected by the Excalibur causality, I shouldn't be, right?
After all, I don't belong here, so technically I am a foreigner.
Those who wield power are drawn from outside human boundaries. Entities from different dimensions that are foreign to human comprehension.
Besides the last one, I do comply with the two rules.
Under no circumstances Controlling the dead should be counted under human boundaries. Yes, necromancy does exist but what I do is more than just that I literally control death.
I came from a dimension that is inaccessible by anyone and I do believe in reincarnation could return to his world.
I shook my head. It wasn't time to linger on such thoughts that if I could be affected by casualty when I plan to become a casualty myself, and even more than that a stage of power that my mind can't understand when it just started to grasp the power.
After some thought, I put Knight Killer back into inventory and then noticed the Runestone.
'Ah right, let's also get this skill.
Runestone: Ruler's Hands
Break the Runestone to absorb the skill.
I smashed the Runestone without a thought.
You've learned 'Ruler's Hands'
Ruler's Hands
Level: 1
Rank: Rare (B++)
Skill Type: Active
Mana Cost: None
AOE: None
Cool Down: None
Damage: None
Effect: Exert your will over an object without physically touching it.
Skill will be evolved once it reached a high level.
A skill to move an object from a distance just with your mind! On top of that, it didn't have a mana cost. Of course, I knew the true power of this, and what was in front of me is just a weaker version.
It was just a telekinesis with the potency to create
black hole.
This also reminds me to create the spell Blackhole...
The one from Overlord...
I wanted to try this out and I knew I didn't have enough proficiency to lift something heavy.
Moving something heavy required more practice.
So I dropped Casaka's Poisoned Fang onto the ground, then stretched a hand toward it. The dagger easily moved into my hand.
grab!
'Oh~.'
I stared at the dagger with awe. It was my first time seeing a real telekinesis.
'Alright, this is helpful enough.'
I raised my head and saw that the time was almost over.
Remaining time: 0 Hours 0 Min 4 Sec
As the 4 seconds decreased to 3, the System messaged him.
Ding~
The Penalty Quest will end soon.
And another one followed,
Ding~
Because you've hunted in the Penalty Zone,
The next Penalty Quest's difficulty will be adjusted.
An adjustment of difficulty. It would make it harder to hunt so that the penalty will feel like a penalty. Well, I can't wait to see next time what will even be there?
'Now, the class advancement quest will resume.'
Hundreds of monsters would probably be waiting for me back in the boss room. Perhaps even more.
Then, the electronic tone rang.
Ding.
The Penalty Quest will end now.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the mass of silver knights starting to turn towards me. They were not his target. I scanned the whole place to see if anything changed.
But to my amusement, there were many new and powerful mages that just appeared.
'First, the mages!'
There were too many changes in this quest right in the original story, like the fact that all the Knights here were supposed to be just puppets controlled by the mages.
So in Og story, Jinwoo just has to kill the mages and it was all over, just killing one mage would cause hundred-something knights that were gunning for me to all fall down, quite literally like a puppet with its strings cut. The fallen knights were just empty armors without an owner.
But now it was different for me as before even teleporting into the penalty zone I had killed all mages but knights stood there trying to find which was unlike the story.
And even now new mages have spawned and they look even more powerful.
So yes my grind definitely raised the difficulty of the quest.
But even then it's not like they were a problem for me. I can just cast Shredding Cyclone, even then it would be too much for them, even for this place. I think even Cyclone would do the trick.
clack-clack-clack-clack!
While I was in thought The knights fiercely charged toward me. I calmly used the knight at the head of the party as a stepping stone and leaped off of its shoulders. I overlooked the enemy's army in the air.
The following moment I chanted "Haste". Now I was much faster as the world slowed down around my speed and got a 40% boost.
I ignored the outstretched hands that were trying to grab me.
'...!'
I felt the mages notice me and panicked. Its casting sped up. The knights that had previously focused on swarming me suddenly changed the pattern and formed a protective wall around the mage.
"Flame Lance" "Flame Lance" "Flame Lance" "Flame Lance" "Flame Lance" "Flame Lance" "Flame Lance…
There were more than ten mages this time so I launched all the flame lances at each of them. I did this in such quick succession that it was over in two seconds and I put all my strength on each shot.
And the next second I got a bunch of notifications. As this was over.
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a Knight
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a Knight
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a mage.
You've defeated a Knight
You've defeated a mage…
As Flame launched flame lance one shot kill the mages because of their pathetic low Hp and I aimed at their crucial points.
While any Knight that try to come in front of it got their armor pierced by the flame lance that also melted their bodies.
And before Knights could even land a finger on me I was invisible again.
And they stopped moving as they looked around. I silently walked to a corner of the room and sat down in a cross-leg position.
I know I am going to spend days here. So why not make myself comfortable?
And I started working on the 4th. The eyes. One of the most delicate organs in the body.
'The eyes are one of the most important aspects of a person. They are one of the most delicate and fragile organs in the human body. You need to be absolutely careful when kneading your mana into them. If anything happens to them, then anyone's goals and dreams would end before they even begin.
I recalled every piece of information I read from the anatomy book.
'The eye. A sense organ that reacts to light. The cells in the retina are photoreceptor cells that are able to detect visible light and send information to the brain. The cone cells are the photoreceptor cells in the retina and they respond differently to different wavelengths of light. Thus responsible for color vision.'
I recalled the images of the eye and the information I studied many times. I even did studies on different types of visions that Superman usually has.
'I need to be absolutely careful when I do this. One mistake and I could go blind for a few seconds, blow up my eye, or maybe something even worse. And these pains were something that I never wanted to experience.
If I didn't have the regeneration ability and absolute confidence that I would come out of this completely healed if anything happens then I definitely wouldn't attempt this now. Especially at such an early stage.'
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a few seconds to concentrate. Then I opened them and looked around. I concentrated a very minuscule amount of mana energy into both my eyes. I wanted to strengthen the photoreceptor and the eye as a whole, giving me a few new types of vision. I already had somewhat of a good night vision but I want more and make this even better.
I could experience the change in vision in real-time. As I focused my mana on the optic nerves, Iris, and lens, and slowly throughout the eye my vision dramatically changed. It strengthened and I could see far beyond what I was able to before.
The mana manipulation and mana flow ability worked in tandem with my intent and auto-corrected any small mistakes that would have happened before they did. This took some more time than the others since I took it slow.
About half an hour later I was standing looking around in wonder. Every detail I looked at was precise. From the smallest granules above the ground to the dust layer floating in the air, to the detailed feathers of the birds dozens of meters away.
