Chapter 13: Arissa

"Never expected that from a lady who can't handle a little shot." Nicklaus's thin lips spoke up the moment he stood before her.

She looked adorable and with the way she bent, he sensed maybe she was trying to hide from someone

Arissa heard someone speaking to her and raised her head in surprise because of the voice. There was no way she would have mistaken that low terrifying however the perpetual voice of that lone Alpha even when he did not say much in their short encounter.

Nicklaus looked down at the weak man on the floor that buried his face in the floor but held his groin with his back low and butt upward. He seems to be healing.

"You amaze me," he said with his face still looking down at the harasser. She might have crushed his balls for him to be in that position until now.

He took off his jacket and dropped it on her delicate shoulder blade to cover her body. He does not like how her body was exposed, especially her waistband.

Arissa blinked when his jacket dropped on her body. She adores his charms and charisma but his guts are just something she hates.

How dare he just drops his jacket on her after discarding her like she was trash?_ she was frightened, yes, and somehow, his jacket comforted her.

"Why did you come?" Arissa snapped rather than a thank you as she came back to her senses and took the jacket off her body glaring at him.

"Don't discard my gentleness," Nicklaus warned in a steel voice seeing that she was about to pull his jacket off her body. Arissa's brow crocked with how he warned her. What the hell is wrong with him?

She took her hand to the jacket but before she could take it off her shoulder his hand landed on it holding it down.

"Can you take me to the backdoor?" Arissa asked rather than focusing on his jacket. She allowed the jacket to be on her because it also helped to calm her down.

And again, she does not have much time left because she can hear Mr. Adams's voice faintly meaning a minute more, he would be here and she is more scared because she is not seeing the other two people with him might, they might have seen her. Nicklaus's eyes saw how the stranger was about to stand up and without a second thought, he hit him hard with his shoe and made the stranger lay flat on the floor again with a painful growl.

Arissa breathed out seeing how he matched the man back to the floor again. Is he protecting her?

"Let's go," Nicklaus said as he stretched out his hand to her for her to take. Arissa looked into those dark orbs of his before taking his open hand and standing up from the couch.

.....

The moment they walked out of the bar and came in front of the staircase that lead to the rooms upstairs Arissa fastly switched off her phone.

Arissa had mistakingly left her location on and now, they used to get her down here.

"Let's go upstairs," Nicklaus said to her and she followed him. He took long strides and lead the way up the staircase.

Arissa watched his back as he walked through the beautiful and sensual corridor like he owned the place and hell, why is she following him without questions?

Nicklaus stopped at a door and swiped a white card he brought out from his pocket before turning the door knob. The door opened and he walked in before switching on the light.

He looked at Arissa who just stood at the door as if scared to come in, "I don't bite," he said with a nonchalant expression on his face.

She can go back downstairs again for all he cares. And why in the Lord's name did she attract him?

He looked at her delicate face and with the lights on, his eyes well around her body one can say that he is impressed with her figure and look even if he did not bluntly let it known to her.

"Go back downstairs then_," he said about to close his door since she do not want to walk in. Her reluctance after being brave to ask him for a night is somehow itching him.

Arissa stopped him from closing the door as she walked in. Going downstairs wasn't optional because Mr. Adams might get a hold of her even before she can call a cab.

"Thank you, George," she said with a little gratitude looking into his cold eyes.

Nicklaus only stared at her without responding.

"They would leave soon," Arissa spoke up when he stared at her unnecessarily. She knows that he already figured she was trying to hide from someone because of how he readily helped her.

She looked around the room and admired how spacious and luxurious it is. It seems like this might be his private room here, especially with the fact he has a key card to it.

Nicklaus turned away from her and walked to the bed, "Who are you running from?" he asked her after sitting on the bed.

"Not that they matter," she said lightly as she got to the bed and stood three steps away from him.

Nicklaus kept quiet and stared at his feet in thought, "There is a bathroom." he said pointing to a glass door at the corner of the big room, "Make yourself at home," he announced before standing up from the bed and leaving.

Arissa nodded at him and sat on the bed the moment he stood up. She took off his jacket and discarded it on the bed but before she can lie down, she remembered her purpose here_

"Wait," Arissa called out to the lone Alpha that have taken ten steps already. Nicklaus stopped before turning towards her, "What?" he asked with a little frown on his face.

His face looked a little scary to approach but since she had faced her mother even in her worst moments he can face this Alpha, "I thought you changed your mind," she spoke up as she walked towards him.

She would get married soon and this is the only thing she can do for herself so she has to ignore his frown and speak up unless she would regret it for a lifetime.

Nicklaus chuckled before he closed their distance "What's the name?" he asked her looking down at her face. She amaze him greatly with her mouth that even with a frown on his face, she still spoke up.

"Arissa," Arissa answered and gasped immediately remembering that before she can stop herself from saying her real name s he have said it already.

"Arissa," Nicklaus repeated her name remembering something. He missed her expression because he looked at the wall the moment he heard her name as if in a short thought.
