There was once a state commonly referred to as the Old Empire that occupied large territories on three continents and ruled millions of people. The Old Empire was rich enough to import great amounts of spices, silk, emeralds, diamonds, and slaves every day for their luxurious lives, and their traders would even venture far south to buy exotic animals such as rhinos and zebras. The army that defended the borders of the Old Empire from the elven, dwarf barbarian human allied followers of the Cult of the Sun invasions from the North, the never-ending hunt of the dwarf-human confederacy following the cult of the Divine Twins from the Northeast, the greed for the conquest of the believers of the Fire God from the East, and the incursions across the dessert from the followers of the Moon God to their lands from the South finally exhausted its resources and the Old Empire fell after centuries of constant warfare against both the external threats and the enemies within the Old Empire.
"The Divine Twins" was a very prominent pair of gods in Indo-European religions across the globe and particularly among several Germanic tribes.
"The Western parts of the Old Empire" and "West" refers to Europe.
"Cimbri" was a Germanic tribe in antiquity who fought against the Romans. Think of them as the Franks of this world. Cimbrian Empire is the Frankish Empire of Charlemagne of this world. Aphelia is one of the names used for the island of Cyprus.
"Ambrones Kingdom" is France. "Ambrones" too was a Germanic tribe.
"The Patriarch of Ravenna" is the Pope's equivalent of the Mysteries of Mithas of this world.
"Ravenna" was the capital of the late Western Roman Empire, and it is relatively less known, therefore I'll use it as the Rome of this world.
