Chapter 15: Chapter 15 Humanity will never conquer life
The day came the ground shook and the soldiers stationed in the trenches felt a small earthquake. Their morning coffee created small waves and when they looked out beyond the trenches they saw a massive army of over 270,000 soldiers march like a massive horde and stop moving to see the long defense line Alex set up.
Alex got out of the walls of the camp and stood above the trenches and used his eyes and check the front of the Chronos soldiers and saw some were tired and starving. Alex didn't mind and spoke to a nearby officer.
"I want all of our soldiers to be on high alert and our artillery ready to fire if they attack."
"Yes commander!" the officer saluted.
Soon the soldiers deploy their weapons some are new some are already being mass-produced.
Over 30 km away from Draconian camp the Chronos commander spoke to his officers and commanders.
"We make camp we can't penetrate their lines so easily so we drain their resources" The commander over 15 feet tall with black skin and his eyes glowing red with a giant spike hammer spoke with a tone of authority.
"Yes General" the other Titans spoke and humanoid officers.
A few hours later they completed the camp and it had some form of organization.
"Are our artillery in range to their camp?" Alex asks the artillery officer.
"Yes my lord we can only hit the front of the camp."
"Okay make preparations let's give them a reality check."
Soon the artillery began preparations loaded up their cannons and got ready to fire.
"Fire!" the artillery officer shouted.
Soon the artillery roared and thunderous explosions happened after 10 seconds of firing.
The Chronos soldiers making a ditch heard the loud explosions and whistling and the moment they looked up they saw something small but fast falling The Titans looking at this just stood there since it might be rock and just shatter impacting their skins but that was very wrong.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
Large explosions and the shells that landed on the Titans were blown up to pieces and their skin and blood splattered the surroundings the tents stationed in the front were burned to a crisp and the soldiers working in the ditches were buried by the dirt.
But before they get organized another volley comes raining down and screams and cries for help from the buried dirt but no one comes to help them.
Alex ordered a volley and ceased all action after that.
Over 10,000 died and 15,000 were severely injured and could not recover from the battle.
The next day the Chronos army began their attack and some soldiers in their ranks were low in morale but forced to fight when they were charging bullets from the Draconian trench line began firing upon them and artillery rained upon them and machine gun bunkers fired upon them and sharpshooters aimed for officers and commanding of the troops and soon all hell get loose enemies tried to reach the draconian Trench but were blocked by barbed wire and landmines and even if they were able to overcome they were met with bayonets gunfire.
"Don't let them pass as for the Titans who were crossing the obstacles use our grenades and rocket launchers put them to good use" Alex spoke as he moved pieces some soldiers were receiving injuries due to the javelins being thrown by the Titans who were able to throw before they died.
"How many injuries do we have?"
"Over 50 soldiers have severe injuries and 100 light injuries that will be deployed after healing up."
Alex nodded and right now everything was stable Alex got out of the command tent and saw the battle sight both enemies and his soldiers were duking out and right now engineers were constantly repairing the damaged defenses and replacing the mines that had blown up.
In the next few days, Chronos soldiers threw themselves in a meat grinder and Alex knew they were trying to drain his resources and ammunition but right now he had a stable supply line, and every hour his ammunition was replenished and over 80,000 Chronos soldiers died for every meter was fought but the first line held after many javelins were stuck inside and outside of the walls And silence in the battle filed and Alex saw the streams of blood moving to one spot and forming a small pond and the bodies were left to rot.
"Switch out our soldiers from the front and send them to the 4th line to rest and eat and for the 4th line soldiers sent them to the front."
"Yes my lord." the officer began relaying Alex's soldiers and this day they were able to survive and another day of fighting.
Next day…
Shouts of pain and war were heard throughout the battlefield as Chronos soldiers dragged their injured bodies to the location of the Draconian soldiers who were firing in different directions Alex knew something was off no strategy and Placed all soldiers in this meat grinder.
"How many mounted infantry can we mobilize" Alex looked at one of his staff officers named Swachez.
"My lord we can mobilize 7,000 since we brought more horses for backup."
"Okay have them ready to depart at my command."
Alex got out of the tent and looked over the battlefield suddenly a small black tornado appeared next to him a cloaked man appeared and knelt next to Alex as he began speaking.
"My Lord, Artemis mobilized a quarter of the soldiers in the main camp along with her 1,000 Elite guard towards the Fadsi Valley where my agents said that over 50,000 Titans appeared this information was sent 24 hours ago, and right now she left the camp under the command of one of her companions." The man stopped speaking and awaited Alex's next orders.
Alex breath in for a moment and breathed out and spoke as he gazed at the battlefield in front of him.
"This the most goddamn annoying commander but no matter I have the new forbidden cavalry" He then turned around and spoke once more.
"Order our scouts to continue to observe and don't interfere unless their lives are endangered and protect Artemis we can't lose a trading partner."
"Yes, my lord."
Soon Alex entered the tent and spoke to his officers.
"I received a report and Right now this battle is a large diversionary attack and I hereby as the Lord of Draconia Place Swachez commander of this Camp and soldiers within it."
Everyone nodded and Swachez spoke.
"What my lord where is the real attack happening."
"Well I know the titan general is trying to Draw me far away from this battlefield and the remaining powerful titans will surge forward if I leave so-" Alex opened one of his palms and released some of his energy and soon he compacted his energy and created a marble size ball and people felt another presence like Alex there and Alex place his powers in the chair were he always seat and spoke.
"Consider this my Power and a copy of myself and let them think I still preside over the camp."
Alex turned his boot and left the tent and outside of the camp and saw 7,000 cavalrymen with long steel lances and their battle rifle that was shortened and almost looked like MP5s and their armor covered by a vale of cloak that could fool an enemy into thinking their light armored soldiers and their helmets covering their face and on their back was their supplies.
This unit is called the "forbidden cavalry" and their name would strike fear throughout the continent and the entire world numerous nations and empires tried to copy their tactics but failed due to the complexity of commanding a unit.
"Forbidden cavalry I will brief you on our mission and that is to assist the battle in the location where Artemis is and now we will depart for war." Alex finished speaking and got on to his mount named Huldian the white horse It was a tale where every battlefield that was present always had blood covered.
"To war, we go!" Alex shouted and rained his horse to move.
And followed by the forbidden cavalry who present their battle flag.
A few hours later…
Kazmir canyon…
Loud bangs and roars of war as Artemis fought off numerous titans she pulled out her combat that extended its length and stabbed and slashed as her army held the line but barely due to her hunter guard spread to a thin line and commanding her troops.
'I hope Alex knew what's happening if not we shatter and lose' Artemis looked up and saw The mountain brigade of archers and skirmishers firing from the top of the canyon they were fighting Titans although distracting them but didn't help much.
Artemis drew her bow and launched another arrow as she ignored the pain.
Soon Artemis felt a shocking presence as the titan commander charged at the line and when only a few meters were left he swung his blade.
Boooooom
It caused a small earthquake and caused the soldiers to tumble and fall to the ground those who were striking range were killed instantly and their bodies splattered on the soldiers behind them.
"Damn it No!" Artemis shouted as she charged at the titan commander she unleashed a flurry of arrows at him and drew her sword.
Clang Clang boom boom.
They exchanged blows every second and in their surroundings, the armies clashed.
But it slowly changed as the titan commander unleashed a dark energy from his body that caused Artemis to pause from the movements and caused the titan commander to swing his fist at her chest.
BOOM
"Aaaaargh" She screamed as she was thrown back of the lines and seeing the goddess distanced he decided to begin the rampage.
He sucked in and roared and caused the surroundings to shake and the Titans roared as well and charge.
This caused mass panic in the Olympus army and slowly faltered as they ran from the enemy
But they heard a large boom that caused the fighting to stop.
Alex appeared and with great neck speed slammed his body at the titan commander who was blasted back.
Alex looked behind as the Forbidden cavalry raised their battle flags and the Draconia banner and charged as they pointed their long black steel spears and pointed downwards they didn't scream but the sound of the iron hooves and the gunfire along with the fluttering of the long cloak.
Terrified by the Titans some created a spear wall but the bullets from the battle rifle caused them to be killed and their morale in near shattering.
But the titan commander got up and unleashed all of its energy and roared as he charged at Alex clearly angered by the sudden appearance.
"Let this be known I declare." Soon the surroundings began to shake violently and feeling something was about to emerge Alex continued as crimson-red energy began to flow out.
"Dark Age" Soon the valley crumbled as the energy expanded and covered the sky and engulfed the two armies and the orange sky was replaced by thunderclouds when the soldiers looked around they saw other groups or massive amounts of soldiers clashing and if one died they continued the fight.
A place where wars never end and never achieve peace a place that can be called hell and weapons scattered around the battlefield.
And yet they didn't care they charged with anger and fear titans and Olympians were about to fight a battle to the death but the cavalry struck first.
"Humanity will never conquer life." With those words spoken Alex landed on the ground and started dashing to meet the titan commander's head behind them soldiers filled with death and anger charged as their weapons aimed at each other.
