Chapter 10: A Hero Emerges

"What did she do to deserve that?!"

Lillia had her foot pressed against the Raphael's chest, his face a bloody and burned pulp. His allies looked no better.

"I-I wanted-"

"No! Shut it! Lydia never deserved that!"

With every word, she stomped down. Blood gushed from Raphael's lips as the loud crack of his bones resounded. Lillia was breathing heavily, her body doubled over from exhaustion. Sprouting from her head were a pair of deep black horns with a small and smoldering flame, while her arms and legs were charred and hardened.

"Stupid bastards. I despise this form, yet here I am."

Lillia kicked Raphael, launching him away. Falling to her knees, she could only stare at the sky with tears filling her eyes.

"So this is where you were?"

Lillia looked over, the blinding light of the Sun blocking the view of the speaker.

"And who the hell are you?"

The darkened figure shifted, wielding a large blade. They took a few steps before speaking.

"I'm your worst nightmare, Demon."

Lillia smirked.

"A little late, but the effort is there. Come on, kill me. I won't resist."

Lillia hung her head and moved her hair from her neck. The dark figure stumbled as they drew closer.

"H-huh? Just showing your neck means nothing. I'll just be rid of all of you! These poor souls will be avenged!"

Lillia pointed to the three bodies.

"Poor souls? They're-"

"Silence Demon! I, the Hero, Sylla shall destroy you!"

Lillia began to laugh softly.

"So the Hero finally arrived? Whatever. Not in the mood to kill you."

Sylla drew their blade back, an annoyed glint in their eyes. Lillia simply closed her eyes, her ears picking up the sound of the blade flying through the wind. A strange clang resounded.

"Hmm? That was?"

Lillia looked up, her eyes on a strange and unknown figure. Arms and legs hardened into purple crystals, with similar horns sprouting from their head. One hand was holding back the blade Sylla held.

"W-what?! How can a Demon hold back a Holy Sword!?"

Sylla sounded terrified, but the new Demon began to laugh.

"So that's what I look like to you? Perfect."

The crystalized hand clenched down, a sudden crack and snap had the latter half of the blade fall and sink into the soil. Lillia turned, seeing the three bodies still in place.

"Who are you?"

The Demon swung upwards with their free hand, sending Sylla flying. They shrieked into the distance as the Demon smirked and stared down at Lillia.

"Already forget about me? Heard you lost all-"

Lillia immediately jumped up, her arms wrapping around Lydia. She sobbed heavily as she began to examine her wounds.

"What? How? You were... in my arms... now this?! You're a Demon? And you have the Demon King's form?"

The crystals on her body began to fade away as the horns shrank. She flexed her arms as Lillia continued to talk to herself.

"Are you just going to keep losing it?"

Lydia sighed, grabbed Lillia by her shoulders and caught her attention.

"There you are. Eyes on me."

Lillia went blank, her eyes locked on Lydia's.

"My family will need to explain this to me as well. Just one shackle, then this."

Lillia just continued to stare as her words spilled from her mouth.

"You're really here? That Hero didn't kill me and send me to you?"

Rolling her eyes, Lydia smirked as she leaned in and pressed her lips against Lillia's.

"That's for you to decide."

Lillia took a step back and pinched her cheek. She squeaked and rubbed the mark.

"Didn't believe me?"

"Well you just kissed me! You were practically hellbent on not being with me."

Lydia tilted her head.

"Well yeah. I didn't know you, so it felt rushed and forced. Even now, we barely know each other, but I like you enough to want you nearby."

Lillia looked off into the distance.

"So uh, Sylla. How far away did you send them?"

Lydia leaned towards Lillia, seeing a cute pink blush across her cheeks.

"No idea. I doubt she would survive, but a Hero will do what they will."

"She?"

Lydia nodded.

"I was close enough to see. She was pretty cute, but her armor was damn clunky and poorly made. Stupid thing wasn't even wearing a helmet."

Lydia noticed Lillia pouting and smirked.

"Don't be so jealous. She's definitely still unable to drink."

As Lydia started walking away, she threw her hand out and smacked Lillia's rear. Squealing, Lillia began to chase her down as they returned to the town.

"Owwie."

Sniffling as she sat up, Sylla looked at the broken sword in her hand. Tears welled up in her eyes as a small flash of light burst in front of her.

"So it broke, a weapon that nullifies a Demon's power. How did she do that?"

Standing before Sylla was a girl that was almost like a doll. Sylla hiccupped as she knelt before the girl.

"I'm sorry Kaelie! It broke! I was too-"

Kaelie placed a finger against Sylla's lips. Her small frame seemed to be annoying her.

"Quiet. The sword will be rebuilt in time, then I'll return to my true Angel form. Will you settle down with a kiss?"

Sylla nodded, quickly being pulled in by Kaelie. The Hero melted into the Angel's lips. Before long, Kaelie moved back, licking her lips.

"When my body matures, we can do the usual."

The red faced Sylla nodded.

"Uh huh. I'll make sure you feel good."

With her tears dried and her face drunk on desire, Sylla got back to her feet.

"Let's rebuild it!"
