Chapter 56: Open Wounds

When Damien came to realize this too, his heart ached even more. Perhaps he was the more selfish one out of the two of them. No one could have his love but her. She was the only one worthy of it.

Nothing could change that.

Seeing how everything had transpired into a mess, the elders attempted to salvage the situation. They tried unsuccessfully to regain the attention of the wolves who gathered. Damien didn't seem willing to help them either, seeing as they attempted to humiliate and hurt his Sunshine.

"Since you've presented your evidence against me, perhaps it's my turn to present mine?" Safira's voice rang through the hall.

To her surprise, everyone listened. The crowds simmered down, eager to hear what she had to say. Archer, who watched from the sidelines, was stunned too. Most wolves had only ever seen an Alpha or higher command an audience, now they've truly seen something special.

"I think it's only fair," Elder Rosalie agreed.
