Chapter 32: Hurting

The other wolves looked equally troubled too. It did not take long for her to realize something was amiss. There was the scent of blood lingering in the air. Seth met them at the borders. The Beta was covered in blood and a few scars but otherwise alright.

Safira quickly got off Damien's back as the two wolves communicated through mind-link. She instinctively placed a hand on Damien's fur, hoping her presence would help soothe his emotions. She can sense his rising rage.

"What's wrong," she asked, her voice almost a whisper as if all the air had been snatched from her throat.

Seth threw her a nasty glance before heading off along the border. Damien turned to Safira and nuzzled with her for a moment. From the color of his eyes, she was quick to notice that Yukon had taken over.

"Tell me what's wrong," she pleaded again.

'There's been an attack on the border in our absence,' Yukon's voice echoed in Safira's mind.
