Basileus studied what he could see of Varya's face as she patiently waited for him to begin speaking. 

He couldn't believe this was the beautiful creature he had vowed to love for the rest of his life earlier that day. Not only that, but she had sworn the same to him. The mutual love they had was euphoric, especially for him who had never had a taste for that his entire life. 

"I've never met someone like you, Varya," he said, feeling emotions come forth he had been keeping at bay all day. "You pulled me out of the depths of hell and molded me into who I am today. Any success from this point forward, I owe entirely to you. Just let this gift be my continuous thanks to you. I'll try to be worthy of your heart for the rest of my life."
