Chapter 247: Friends

"You never got to tell me what was wrong with Trevor," Ava asked Mason the following morning as he prepared to leave for work.

"You were fast asleep when I returned, and I need to be at the office now. I will tell you all about it when I get back," Mason responded as he knotted his tie.

"Any plans for today?" He asked her.

"I will be meeting with the girls later today," Ava replied.

"All right, have a nice day," Mason said as he kissed her lips.

"I must say this getaway trip did you well. You look really good," Maddie said as she came back to her living room with a tray of scones and cups of coffee. She placed the tray on the small coffee table and came to sit next to Ava.

"I agree with Maddie, you look so relaxed and well taken care of," Layla said smiling.

"Well, I was well taken care of during our vacation," Ava said smiling.

"Now, I'm envious of you," Maddie said as she picked up her cup of coffee.
