Sophia glanced at Elizabeth and realized she was yet to make an introduction.
"Van, this is Ms. Elizabeth Peter's, Carroll's divorce litigator–"
"I'm Alex's mum." Elizabeth quickly added with a wide smile, as she stretched out her hand.
'Alex's mum?' Vanessa's eyes darted towards Sophia, whose eyes revealed just how surprised she was too.
Vanessa blinked as she stared at the woman. She was Alex's mum? Vanessa pondered within herself, but very quickly she collected herself and received Elizabeth's hand.
"Vanessa Scott."
"I know." Elizabeth said, revealing a bright smile that looked just too familiar.
It was just like Alex's. That warm bright smile that made his brown eyes glimmer, and soften his almost too perfect face. One look at Elizabeth as she smiled, Vanessa lost every shred of doubts, and at that moment, she suddenly recalled Alex mentioning his mother's name the other day at the balcony.
My TCB experience.
TCB wasn't an easy book to write especially for 'me', because we had to think of ways to make all the cliches seem not so cliche, but what had us going were the characters.
They were relatable & everytime before we wrote a scene, we'd ask if it were us, how would we react to the situation a character was been subjected to?
Sometimes, we got answers other times we went with the flow, but in all, it was great.
To be continued.
